1: Summer 2012 - Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Monument Valley, Bryce, Zion, Las Vegas

2: First family plane ride Boys bought Turtle & Booger in the Jax airport

4: We headed to the strip. Went to top of Paris' Eiffel Tower to watch the Bellagio fountains

5: We walked on the strip but it was very crowded. Saw the KISS wedding chapel and had dinner at Cabo Wabo

6: Family photo in Paris | We walked through the Venetian and Paris Hotels

8: Helicopter ride over the Hoover Dam to the Grand Canyon

12: Flying up the Colorado River. The black dots in pic below are other helicopters in our group. The runway pic below was used in Thelma & Louise

13: Landing in the Canyon 4,000 feet below the rim.

14: Exploring the Canyon. The boys grabbed the ipods and took pictures too.

18: The whole trip lasted about 4 1/2 hours with lunch at the bottom of the canyon

30: After the long van ride the kids loved playing on the rocks at the overlooks. They wrote their names in the wall and got covered in dust.

34: Dad's timing was perfect. We made it to the canyon in time for exploring and rock climbing before seeing a spectacular sunset. Mather Point See Dad and boys in the picture below.

39: Dinner in the Coronado Room in our Hotel. We tried the Elk which was delicious

46: We stopped along the South Rim and Climbed out onto an outcrop. Steep views over the sides. Took pics looking back up too.

81: Mexican Hat - 60 foot wide sombrero shaped rock outcropping. Fun in the Van. Thank goodness for electronics.

115: Beautiful views along the Colorado River

116: Best thing about the car ride...we could stop anywhere along the road to go exploring. We stopped to walk across this bridge over the Colorado River

117: Boys took turns throwing rocks and, of course, spitting over the side into the river. Then they ran across the rest of the way to the van.

118: HWY95 views of Lake Powell at Hite, Utah and Glen Canyon. We drove by this and turned around to stop and go exploring

119: Enjoying views of Lake Powell at Hite Crossing. A group was hitting golf balls into the canyon.

121: Pics from our hotel in Torrey. Great view from our room. Patio for dinner. Car ride games, and Corey wiped out on a rock.

122: Starting our sightseeing ride along US12. Found more rocks to dance on!

123: The trees were beautiful on this stretch of road and we saw some big deer.

124: Great panoramic views along the road and stopped to smell the flowers

128: Petrified Forest A fun hike up and down the hillside

130: We had never been to a petrified forest. Pics from the view from the top. Kids did great. Chris got a lift from Papa on the way back down

132: Ride into Bryce Canyon area Tons of pronghorn families. See the babies!

133: And prairie dogs too! They were very cute. Loved the pronghorns hanging by the Residential Sign. Pics from the van ride fun!

135: First views of Bryce at the far end of the trail. I liked the butt shots.

137: Views from Rainbow point. Elevation ~9000ft Notice the jackets. It was a bit chilly in June.

144: Start of our hike into the canyon at Sunset Point. Navajo and Queen's Loop

146: Hiking into the canyon down switchbacks. Path gets narrower and narrower. And has tunnels and rocks to climb and jump from.

148: Down to the narrowest part of the walk into the canyon.

149: Both Nana and Chris fell along the path and then had dusty butts.

150: Reached the bottom walk along Wall Street with tall trees and rocks on either side. Dusty feet and Chad had left his camera and took a different way down.

152: Found this great area with stones; visitors had made towers and formations on the ground and in trees. We made some of our own.

155: Great views from down in the canyon, looking up at the hoo doos. And of course more things to climb on!

158: A bit rougher going up than coming down! Beautiful views of the trail. Corey found a great place to throw rocks off into the canyon!

159: More tunnels and switchbacks on the way back out of the canyon. We should have brought drinks and snacks for the kids!

160: We made it!!!! Tough but rewarding hike! Celebrating back at the top at Sunrise Point.

169: Zion-Mount Carmel Hwy into Zion. Great twists, turns, and tunnels

170: Stopped along the highway to jump and climb like the goats!

171: Starting our trek on Canyon Overlook Trail. A great hike along the side of a river valley that ends with a great view.

172: This was such a fun family walk. Fairly flat with great trees, overhangs, rocks and views.

175: Getting the kids to take a sweet pic was not always easy

177: We made it to the end of the trail overlooking Zion! Amazing!

178: On the trek back we stopped along the overhangs and rocks

182: At the Zion Visitor Center and Riding the Shuttle Bus

183: A little mouse or ground squirrel joined us for lunch.

184: Hike to Lower Emerald Pool. Great walk along the river in the canyon and woods up to the pool

187: Water ran down the walls and off the overhang so you could stand behind the waterfall.

189: Riverside walk to the Narrows. We had the Park Superintendent as our tour guide.

190: A beautiful walk along the steep sides of the canyon and rocky riverbed

194: Walking The Narrows. We had walking sticks and good shoes to get wet. No one fell in. Chris wasn't so sure about getting his shoes wet at first.

196: This was as far as we walked. It got waist deep after this.

198: Hiking back was more fun in the river. Throwing rocks and making big splashes.

199: My running shoes got a bit wet!

201: A perfect hike! The kids did awesome! And walked back out of the canyon as the sun was going down.

203: Our hotel and shopping outside of Zion in Springdale, Utah. Dinner at the Bit Spur.

204: Clowning around in Circus Circus and the Adventuredome!

205: Skee Ball! Drifters Hot Air Balloons and Some Crazy Spinning ride for Chad and Kenzie

206: Our last night on vacation. Freemont Street and Hennessey's for dinner.

207: All of the kids battled Darth Vadar! Kenzie attached him and he surrendered!

208: Enjoying the indoor hotel pool before we head home.

210: Chad, Kristy, and I went out for a night in Vegas! We only lost Chad once.

211: Last dinner together in the airport. Tired kids headed home.
