Shave meat and place on pita bread with tomato, cucumber, onion lettuce and garlic or hot sauce. * The word Shawarma comes from the Turkish word for "turning". It is called a doner kebab in Turkey | Most Wednesdays we walk to the local snack bar where there is an outside barbeque area. There is a shawarma stand, a stir fry cook and a man making "mutabbaqs". The word means "folded" in Arabic and is a crepe-like pancake which can be savoury or sweet. We sometimes have one with sliced banana and honey. Mmmm! After the barbeque we went line dancing.
