S: Baja Amigos 45 Day Tour 2011

FC: Baja Amigos 45 Day RV Caravan Tour Nov 2nd to Dec 18th 2011 | Photography by Doug Canning

1: We met with the other people going on the caravan at the Potrero Regional Park campsite just east of San Diego

2: After crossing the border at Tecate we travelled west on Corridor 2000 bypassing Tijuana then heading south on the main highway (1) to Ensenada ending up at Punto Banda We set-up camp and then were off sightseeing at La Bufadora (blow hole).

3: Market at La Bufadora and our campsite just beside the beach.

4: Some of the sights around Ensenada Statue Day of the Dead decor Some local berries and seeds We paid a visit to the Hussong's Bar the oldest cantina in the Californias. This is where the Margarita was invented in 1941.

5: Playa Ensenada Hotel and Casino and later Hotel Riviera now houses the Centro Social Civico y Cultural Riviera A lunch out with the group

6: Lazaro Cardenas - Beach Camping at Fidel's El Pabellon Palapas Alvinos Camground

7: One of the many Military Check-Points | A stop was made at the Sonora Gift Shop which sells "Onyx" items

8: Catavina Rancho Santa Inez

10: Guerrero Negro - Taco Stand Lunch San Ignacio - Date Palm Oasis

11: Rice & Beans RV Park and Restaurant

12: Bahia Concepcion Playa Santispac

14: Loreto Fiesta Night

15: Side Trip to Mission San Francisco Javier (the 2nd oldest Spanish mission in the Baja) Lunch stop at Del Borracho

16: Loreto Shops parade in a small village we passed through Margaretta Happy Hour at Ciudad Constitucion - Palapa 206 RV Park & Motel

17: Playa El Tecolote 24 km north of La Paz

18: La Paz - Revolution Day Parade

20: El Triunfo Former gold mining town, mission that was being restored, interesting mixed media pottery crafts and rock painting of the Virgin of Guadelupe

21: Rancho Verde This working ranch had a good RV campground and sells lots to build your own Casita (small house) or your own private RV spot Los Barriles is a nice village on the Sea of Cortez The sphere is the marker at the Tropic of Cancer

22: Cabo San Lucas Tour of the Glass Factory, the harbour and downtown

25: Playa Santa Maria was a great beach for relaxation swimming and snorkeling | San Jose del Cabo

26: Pescadero - on the pacific popular with surfers | The Blanket Factory | Backyard eatery

28: Todos Santos home of the original "Hotel California" George's Taco stand for lunch

29: La Paz

30: Playa Juncalito

32: Hike near Puerto Escondido

33: Loreto Outdoor Market

34: Mulege a date palm oasis In 2009 the river flooded until 4 feet under this bridge causing vast destruction

35: Fan Palms on left - Date Palms on right | Loma Linda Hotel - once a favorite of all the movie stars in days gone bye - now in ruins | Lighthouse

36: Dinner at Ray's Place Oysters Rockefeller, Margaretta's and Seafood Platter

37: Guerrero Negro We woke up to a very thick fog | But it didn't last long once we hit the highway

40: Catavina back to Rancho Santa Inez | Cave paintings over 7000 years old

43: Vicente Guerrero | Baja Fiesta Restaurant our farewell wind-up dinner

44: Valle de Guadalupe last excursion a tour of the L A Cetto winery

45: Rancho Sordo Mudo RV park | Border line-up at Tecate some lanes were not operating at Tijuana so a lot of traffic came to Tecate
