1: DOBOJ | BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA | ARRIVED 14 APRIL 2011 | is a city and municipality in northern Bosnia and Herzegovina, situated in the northern part of the Republika Srpska entity on the River Bosna.
2: We flew from Munich to Sarajevo and from there Ogi's friend Dino drove us to Ogi's hometown Doboj.
4: In Doboj we stayed with Ogi's grandfather in the house in which he grew up.
6: DOBOJ is one of the oldest cities in the country and one of the most important urban centers in Northern Bosnia and Herzegovina.
14: GRADINA | or Doboj Fortress was one of the most important defenses in the medieval bannate/duchy of Usora. This large stone structure has been built in the early 13th century on the site of earlier, clay and wood-based structure from the 10th century. This magnificent object has been burned and ransacked at least 18 times in its history.

35: SARAJEVO | BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA | ARRIVED 19 APRIL 2011 | is the capital and largest city of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Nestled within the greater Sarajevo valley of Bosnia, it is surrounded by the Dinaric Alps and situated along the Miljacka River in the heart of Southeastern Europe and the Balkans.
36: After spending five days in Doboj we took a three hour train ride to Sarajevo.
38: BASCARSIJA is the major tourist attraction of Sarajevo. It is the old bazaar and the historical and cultural canter of the city.

50: VJECNA VATRA or ETERNAL FLAME | is a memorial to the military and civilian victims of the second World War in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The memorial was dedicated on 6 April 1946, the first anniversary of the liberation of Sarajevo from the four year long occupation by Nazi Germany and the Independent State of Croatia.
