FC: Coastal California | October 2013

1: San Luis Obispo

2: A "to die for" meal at Ciopinot and two days exploring the area. Our loop drive took us south to Pismo Beach, west to Los Osos, Morro Bay, and over the mountains to Paso Robles and wine country.

7: Cambria, CA | Biking through the ages automated scarecrows!

8: HIGHWAY 1 | San Simeon to Lucia

14: That tiny spot above is this beautiful hawk. We watched as it patiently waited and then dove for its prey. | Updraft!

17: Asilomar State Beach

19: San Francisco | Cable cars, bay windows, Legion of Honor, DeYoung Museum, truffles, bridges, Marina, Monte Cristo B&B, Twin Peaks, and so much more...

20: “Without new experiences, something inside of us sleeps. The sleeper must awaken." – Frank Herbert View from the Cliff House of the ocean and Sutro Bath ruins. Also, the Bay Bridge and Alcatraz

23: Golden Gate Park

24: Palace of Fine Arts

26: The Palace was built to celebrate the completion of the Panama Canal. it continues to be a place of beauty and home to many species of birds. The light was perfect early in the morning.

28: Beautiful Views | The Golden Gate Bridge, 20 miles of ribbon inside Grace Episcopal Cathedral, and the view from Twin Peaks.

30: LIVE LOVE LAUGH | And eat great food!

32: On the Sausalito side of the Golden Gate Bridge, headed for Mt. Tamalpais

35: Mt. Tam - a 360 view at the top. Our little Fiat was perfect for the winding roads.

36: Tomales Bay We stayed in the tiny community of Inverness and had the BEST farm to table dinner at Salt Water.

38: Point Reyes National Seashore

39: Government shutdown = empty. We hiked into the park and were greeted by Tule Elk, open vistas,and more wildlife.

40: Anchor Bay Sunset

42: Point Arena

44: As fresh as it gets! Yum!

46: Our "Best Find" was the tiny fishing pier at Point Arena. We had chili beer and fish tacos at the Chowder House as we watched local fisherman unload their harvest of sea urchins.

50: Fort Ross

51: "Supervised" sunset hike on the beach, | and then we were headed home.
