 Before boarding the plane to fly away from the madness here, you will probably check if those travelling with you have their passports on them. Which do you say? Has everybody got their passports? Has everybody got his or her passport? Congrats, you genius! Both are right! When possessives and pronouns refer back to 'everybody', they can usually be either singular (his or her; more formal) or plural (their; less formal)

 Europe | She is known as the city of love; capturing hearts with her breathtaking sights & gastronomic delights. Better hold on tightly to your partner before the French presses ahead.

 Croissants have long been a staple of French bakeries and patisserie (pah-ti-suh-ri). While this humble breakfast item is commonly found in many local bakeries, few can lay claim to achieving that buttery & flaky goodness. And if you can't get it like the French, at least speak it! Say "KWA-SAWN". If Delifrance is the closest thing you'll ever get to France, try not to get all that haughty and insist on the correct pronunciation. I'm quite sure that friendly Delifrance aunty would go, "KWA-SIMI?"

 (Above) The Musée du Louvre. A central landmark in Paris, the Louvre Museum is one of the most visited art museum in the world. Clear your throat and croak "loo-ver". (Left) The Arc de Triomphe is one of the most famous monuments in Paris. This is tough; ark-duh-tree-AWNF.

 Bouillabaisse | Bouillabaisse | A traditional fish stew originating from the port city of Marseille. Traditionally, it consists of at least 3 kinds of fish and simmered together with vegetables. One can easily sample buoy-ya-bess at Marché restaurants in Singapore!

 If you have not noticed, French words have slowly crept into the English Language and even local spelling bee competitions have tested the young ones on them. If you can't beat them, join them! In fact, if you do it with aplomb, it does add a little "oomph" to your sentences. Here's how to do it.

 An intangible quality that makes something distinctive or attractive. E.g. Jennifer has a certain je ne sais quoi about her. | je ne sais quoi juh-nay-say-kwah | blasé blay-zee | Unimpressed with something because of over-familiarity. E.g. Lee Eng has a blasé attitude towards anything Jennifer says.

 ASIA {ey-zhuh}

 Asia is the world's largest and most populous continent; home to many cultures and heritage which lends the region its vast diversity. I don't know about you but that means I'll never get bored!

 Asia also boasts a myriad of picture-perfect beach holidays; truly a paradise to be sun-kissed. | Maldives {mawl-deevz} | Phi phi {pee-pee} | Cebu {see-bu}

 If there is one thing we are known for, I reckon it is our insatiable (in-sey-shuh-buh) appetite for food. good food. conversation goes well with food. So while you're on your vacation stuffing your face with asian delicacies and decide to share your travel adventures with your newfound friends, try not to begin with: I'M GOING TO SHARE WITH YOU ABOUT / ON... tHE prepositions are redundant. Simply begin with: Let me share an experience i once had...

 The blossoming begins in Okinawa in January and typically reaches Kyoto and Tokyo at the end of March or the beginning of April. It proceeds into areas at the higher altitudes and northward, arriving in Hokkaido a few weeks later.

 sydney harbor bridge | One can hear you mutter excitedly, "Pink colour! Very nice!" Now, hold your horses and ask - is pink a colour? If you agree that it is, why then do you need to say 'colour' again? That's right, a simple "it's pink" will suffice.
