The trip was planned mostly for the purpose of Laura meeting Georg's family, and for Earl and Leslie's 30th Wedding Anniversary. We spent two weeks in Europe June 28th - July 7th and had a wonderful time together, meeting Georg's family and spending time in so many beautiful places. We all fell in love with the Suhren family and connected with them very well. We rode across Europe by train and experienced the ease of the German Bahn As for Laura and Georg, It could be that it was Venice or really it was True Love all along (4 1/2 years), but it is on this trip that they continued to fall in love and realized that they wanted to be together forever. They got engaged shortly after we returned home and were married on September 4 in the Salt Lake Temple. Thanks Holger for your constant love and patience! I am the most blessed woman in the world to have you! I Love You!

 Kensington Gardens
A Perfect Day in London June 29 Westminster Abbeey Big Ben Houses of Parliament | London is what Georg says is his favorite place on earth and having served his Mission here he knew how to make the most out of one day for us, especially navigating the Underground.
This is the beautiful flag lined road to Buckingham Palace otherwise known as the Mall. We took pictures with the Royal Guard and resisted the urge to try to make them smile.
We went to St. Paul's Cathedral, the National Gallery at Trafalgar Square...to see original Van Gogh, Monet...and more.
We enjoyed eating at Wagamama's, a place Leslie & Earl had discovered when they were last in London. It was absolutely delicious. We had fun wandering around London to find one.
Our Final Moments in London After dinner we got split up somehow, we don't quite know the real story but Georg and Laura think Leslie & Earl wanted to have a romantic evening in London, and Earl & Leslie well they must have thought the same. | Georg & Laura; Leslie & Earl (at different times) took a romantic stroll along the Thames River, catching views of the London Eye, Tower of London, Tower Bridge and Big Ben. On the Tube going back to our Hotel Georg & Laura had an unforgettable experience we joined in to a rowdy bunch of Brits singing Hey Jude, by The Beatles.
This is a lounge in the Frankfurt Germany Airport just before the Bahnhof, train station. It was really fun sitting in bubbles suspended from the ceiling. | There ended up being lots of train delays and so a trip that normally would have taken 4 hours turned into 10. We were exhausted, but thanks to Georg and his native language skills we were able to get on the right trains & make it all work. | Frankfurt Germany Airport
 Schwangau Germany
HOHENSchWANGAU Castle | High Swan | Childhood home of King Ludwig II of Bavaria. It was built by his father King Maximillian II in 1833 on the ruins of 12th Century Schwanstein Fortress (Swan Stone). This was the family's official summer and hunting residence. It is set in the German village of Schwangau, near Fussen.
Neuschwanstein | Neuschwanstein Castle New Swan Stone
Fussen Germany | Never thought a rainy day could be so beautiful. This is truly a magnificent place. Vitalhotel Wiedemann was a short walk into Oldtown Fussen. We got our first taste of Italian Eis!!
Berchtesgaden Germany | Stunning views from Jenner Mountain to Konigsee and the Watzmann Mountain. | At Konigsee we rode on electric boats, which keep the water pristine. The boat stopped enroute to Bartholoma Chapel and the boatsman played a trumpet tune which echoed through the entire Fjord.
While Leslie & Earl enjoyed the hot tub at the Gastehaus Rehwinkl. Laura spent the whole walk convincing Georg to take the daring plunge into Konigsee which is fed by glaciers. Though it was a chilling 40 F we enjoyed our brisk swim in Germany's cleanest lake.
Salzburg Austria | We took the EuroRail to Salzburg, Austria and put our luggage in these lockers, look Laura can even fit in them. It was a rainy day in Salzburg but very beautiful. Our first place to see was the nunnery which was featured in the Sound of Music. Recognize the gate?
 Mirabell Gardens
Venezia Italia | The train ride into St. Lucia station provided breathtaking views of Venice, we proceeded in awe rolling our bags on the beautiful stone paths to Hotel Florida.
The EuroRail | The trainride from Venice to Munich led us through the stunning Austrian Alps. | In Munich we boarded a Night train with Sleeping cars, where we each had our own bed. | We went to sleep in Munich and woke up in Hamburg, where Miriam picked us up & provided a wonderful German breakfast.
Hamburg Harbor | Rathaus - Courthouse
The Suhren's were wonderful. Reiner, Holger Georg's papa came to get us at the Diepholz train station just minutes away. He came running towards us and gave me a big hug saying; "Laura it is so good to finally meet you" with his darling German accent. Inge, his mother was so good to us and made warm soup and had bread even though it was so late. Sunday, she even taught me how to make her Cheesecake. They made us feel completely welcome.
