1: First Stop: PARIS! Where it rained every day... | Paris

2: SEEING | the City | La Bayadere: a beautiful ballet in an opulent theater

3: Eiffel Tower a chance to see the whole city from the top

4: great sightseeing | King Tut at the Arc de Triomphe?

5: The Louvre was fascinating and HUGE | Le Palais de Justice

6: Ste. Chapelle is home to incredibly tall stained glass windows. It also was the spectacular setting for a wonderful performance of the Vivaldi Four Seasons.

7: Notre Dame is beautiful even in the rain! We had the privilege of hearing part of an evening service, complete with pipe organ and singing of hymns.

8: Coeur des Loges | Lyon | Friends Cathy and Mark joined us in Lyon | The TGV trains are fast AND comfortable | Our new home for one week:

10: old roman theater | Cite de Lyon | cathedral

11: Notre Dame de Fouvier Cathedral

12: Discovering Lyon included seeing the Silk Weavers' Museum and fascinating trompe l'oeil buildings painted to appear in 3D.

13: Outdoor eating makes the food even better! | Now THAT'S a cheese plate!

14: A lovely day trip to Geneva | One of many great street musicians

15: Beautiful Lake Geneva | Lake Geneva has shores in both Switzerland and France

16: A day trip to OLD Avignon

17: Lush Southern France | Spectacular Cote d'Azur

19: Monte Carlo Monaco | The Prince's Palace

24: It was a great trip through the Chunnel on the Eurostar | View from our hotel | St Paul's Cathedral

25: B I G B E N | Churchill Wartime Headquarters | London Protesters

26: Westminster Abbey... | An Abbey verger gave us our own private tour. Not only did he show us around, but he provided seats for the Vespers service, right next to the Boys Choir!

28: It rained through the entire performance! We were lucky to have covered seats. | now showing: Henry VIII

30: A very momentary break from the incessant rain!

31: The Tower of London | Henry VIII Armor

32: In the center of Trafalgar Square | Egyptian obelisk | The National Gallery

33: It's a LONG way down into the Tube... | COOL City Hall

34: The Opera House was at Covent Gardens. Lion King was just down the street.

35: Royal Opera House | Yep - We were there! | A spectacular performance of Le Nozze di Figaro. It was a fitting ending to a memorable trip!
