1: Friday 13th November 2009 17:50 Arrive at London Heathrow | 22:30 Depart Flight Gulf Air, LHW GF8 Terminal 4
2: Arrive in Bahrain Saturday 14th November @ 08:14 Flight GF260 - 10:55 Arrive Kathmandu - 18:00 Raj collected us from airport | After a very long journey we finally find a place to stay.. Kathmandu View..... What view??!! Heads down for a good nights sleep.....
3: Tour day with Raj | Sunday 15th November Start our tour at Bhaktapur 'City of Culture' then from there we went to Pashupati area, a religious place for cremating the dead, then to Shee Boudgnath temple
5: Sunday 15th November After a bumpy bus ride, we had our first experience of Nepal's finest toilets, then off to see some temples at Bhaktapur...
8: Pashupati area, where the dead are cremated and their ashes scattered in the river.
11: Festival of life.......... The Nepalese dance off!
12: Boudhanath Stupa Temple, then Rum Doodle for dinner
13: After our long day yesterday, we get a hot shower and settle our heads for a good nights sleep. Awake (Monday 16th) all refreshed ready for another day. After a morning of travelling we arrive in Pokhara, we book into Hotel Kantphur and then set off to do a little shopping and find somewhere for dinner. | Phewa lake to tal Baharahi a holy place that is visited by those on a pilgrimage | Bahan Tree (Holy Tree)
14: Tuesday 17th November, We start our trek | Drive to trailhead Phedi from Pokhara and trek to Pathana Deurali (2150 m) overnight at teahouse lodge.
15: Lunch at Dhampus, Kaski
16: 2pm We arrive at Pothana 1990m, We check in to Fishtail Lodge | Dhal for dinner then tucked up in bed by 7:30pm!
17: Wednesday 18th November, Day 2 of trek.
18: Day 2 Pothana Deurali to Hot Spring (1750m) overnight at Teahouse Lodge
19: After a very long day walking- 7:20 start, half hour lunch and arrive at 1780m Jhinu Dandi at 4pm (8.5 hrs walking!!) an extra 20 mins walk to hot springs.... HEAVEN!! After dinner (more Dhal Bat!) We were invited by the locals to a party.
20: Thursday 19th November, Day 3 of trek Hotspring hike to Sinwa (2350m) overnight at Teahouse Lodge
22: Friday 20th November, Day 4 of trek. Sinwa hike to Himalaya (2900m) overnight at Teahouse Lodge
23: Start trekking at 8.15, stop at Dovan Guest house for lunch and watch the lamgur ape's then finish trekking at 3:30pm- Stay at Himalaya Guest House 2900m | Our Room
24: Saturday 21st November, Day 5 of trek Himalaya (2900m) hike to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3720m) Overnight at teahouse lodge
26: 7:45am Start trek, after 10 mins of trek my platypus froze! Cold, Cold, Cold!! | Sunday 22nd November Day 6 of Trek Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3720m) Hike to Annupurna Base Camp (4230m) Overnight at Teahouse Lodge | A quick rest...
27: What a view! | We arrived at A.B.C at 9:15am- 4130m We then walked to 4200m to look at the amazing views of the mountains that surrounded us. The views were breathtaking. | We came, We saw, We Conquered!
31: Dal Bhat for dinner then in bed by 7pm wearing the entire contents of our bag!
32: Monday 23rd November Day 7 of Trek Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3720m) to Bamboo (2340m) Overnight at Teahouse Lodge
33: 7:50 start, majority downhill, stopped for lunch at Dovan then set off again... Arrived at 2:15 Made it in really good time. Booked into room and had a HOT shower! Chris & Karpendra played a traditional Nepalese game & we saw a Himalayan Thar- All the villagers came out to see. In bed by 7pm
34: Start trek at 8am- Uphill. Quick stop at Sinuwa at 10am, after a lot of stairs we arrive at our destination Chhomrong 2170m We book into our luxuious room | Tuesday 24th November, Day 8 Bamboo (2340m) trek back to Chhomrong (2170m) Overnight at Teahouse Lodge
35: Wednesday 25th November, Day 9 Chhomrong (2170m) Trek to Ghandruk (1970m) Overnight at Teahouse Lodge | Started at 8am, another day of lots of uphill, Start to see lots more going on, horse, donkey's & ox carrying supplies to ABC, spectacular views! We arrive at Ghandruk at 1:45
36: Wednesday 25th November Arrive in Ghandruk at 1:45pm After settling in we take a walk to Ghandruk's Museum where a little old Nepalese lady dressed us up as Bride & Groom!
39: Thursday 26th November Ghandruk- Nayapul (1070m) & Drive back to Pokhara Staying at Hotel Bahahi Last day of trek, we have to walk really quickly so we can get Kubendra on a bus back home so he can go to school tomorrow. We finish trekking at 1pm, jump into car and are driven to our hotel.... LUXURY! | The view from our room | Chris's shoes after trek, Time for a new pair maybe?
40: Thursday 26th November Spent the afternoon relaxing in our room drinking Everest beer & eating popcorn, went for a little walk, then had dinner at hotel & watched traditional band & dancing.
42: Friday 27th November Hotel Barahi A well earned day for chilling out. Massage booked for 11:30, Had a little look round and went for a boat ride on a religous lake, dinner at Everest Steak House..... Meeeaaattt!
43: Saturday 28th November Hotel Barahi Another day of relaxing, dinner by the pool & then on to Amsterdam Bar for a few drinks
44: Sunday 29th November After breakfast drive to Chitwan National Park, lunch at resort. Visit to Tharu village & national park visitors centre. Sunset view from the riverbank
47: Monday 30th November Dugout canoe trip followed by a visit to elephant breeding farm. Bathing & swim with the elephants in the Rapti river, Elephant safari, dinner then Tharu dancing
48: Monday 30th November | Elephant Sanctuary
49: Whaaahaayy....... look at me I'm on an elephant!!
50: Tuesday 1st December Bird watching, Followed by Elephant Safari..
53: Wednesday 2nd December Last day of Chitwan National Park. Sad to leave, we experienced amazing sights and met some great people.
