FC: Road Trip To The Grand Canyon September 2009

After 6 hours of driving we arrived at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel in Williams AZ. We checked in and then took a walk to look at the town and the trains. Here Kyle stands in front of the train outside the hotel. At this point of the trip, he had no idea that the next day he would be on a train headed to the Grand Canyon.

The first place we visited after arriving in Williams, AZ was the Grand Canyon Deer Farm. | Grandma and Kyle pose for a picture before going inside to feed all the animals.

Kyle had so much fun feeding the deer. The deer on the next page kept following us around even though we ran out of food, so I had to take his picture.

All Aboard... The Grand Canyon Railway now leaving for the Grand Canyon

Before the train departs for the Grand Canyon, the cowboys put on a show for the guests. As you can see Kyle had a great time.

Kyle met Austin and Zachary from Alabama while on the train ride. They had a great time looking for wild animals and Aliens.

The conductor takes a picture with Kyle and Grandma. | The Grand Canyon Depot

Kyle standing in front of the tour bus that will take us to the south rim of the Grand Canyon.

THE GRAND CANYON No brush can paint, nor pencil trace, The charm and beauty of this place; Wonders that in this Canyon dwell, No tongue of man can ever tell.

Although it is hard to tell, the Colorado river that runs through the Grand Canyon is 3 miles wide!

My camera didn't capture the true colors of the canyon, but when you see it in person it is spectacular.

We were enjoying the music on our way back from the canyon when all of a sudden we were...

 Being Robbed!!!

Kyle gets some roping lessons from one of the local cowboys

 Grand Canyon Caverns

Kyle thinks he is touching a rock, but finds out it is really Petrified Dinosaur Poop!

 Mining for crystals

Next Stop... Laughlin NV | You don't go to Laughlin with a 6 year old to gamble. Instead you go to.... Swim, bowl, throw rocks, play in the arcade, eat, feed raccoons, take a boat ride and see the 3D movie, "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs."

As you can see, it tired Grandma out!!!

Kyle doing some gambling of his own in the arcade...

 Time to cash in

After a nice breakfast we decided to take a tour on the USS Riverside.

Davis Dam | Riverside Hotel | Mom's $2.00 water | Kyle takes in the view

Can you guess why Grandma picked this hotel to stay at?

 Kyle Spots Chris Barnes

The raccoons in Laughlin are so use to people that you can feed them right out of your hand....which I did!!!

 Grandma finds a Dairy Queen

Last stop on our road trip...

Not only did Grandma get to visit a place where Huell Howser was at, but she also got to eat the hamburger that they named after him.

While Grandma enjoys her Huell Howser burger...Kyle enjoyed his extra long curly fries!!!

Our road trip comes to an end, but we will never forget the wonderful time we had or the memories we made.
