A family trip to Hawaii sounded fun and also turned out to be - well - complicated! Just to keep track of who was on Oahu and when required a matrix! We had someone flying in or out practically every other day. I guess that's just what it takes to get a whole family, ages ranging from 14-to-86 together. Still, everyone got to spend some time with everyone else, so it was worth it.
Now, on to the activities schedule. Incredible! The most amazing thing was not that we got to do so much, have so much fun, hang with so many favorite people -- but that Thelma, at 86, was right in there with everyone doing all of it! We thought we "kids" should record all the things we did together so we could look back in awe when we were 86! | So, here's an accounting of our many days of fun & activities together in Hawaii . . . .
Music Bash at Mike & Phyll's
music all day and dancing all night . . .
On the first night that everyone was together, Mom treated us all to a full-on Hawaiian Luau | Luau!
Lots of food, fun & dancing | Jan & Devon try hula on stage!
Jon Osorio generously took all who were interested and available for a morning hike to Nuuanu Pali Lookout and told the story of King Kamehameha
The view from Pali Lookout is known as 'one of the best views on Oahu' -- you can see why!
Devon & Jasmine flew high into the sky -- and also right down into the sea! | For a minute, it looked like they were going to have a collision with a plane
surfing lessons for the adventurous (and young)
Zip Line! | fun flying above the palm trees
 Pearl Harbor & The Arizona
Mu Ryang Sa Buddhist Temple | largest authentic Korean Buddhist temple outside of Korea. Very beautiful & peaceful. Everyone rang the gong before entering.
A great day trip to Nuuanu Punchbowl Cemetary and Puu Ualakaa on the way home | Honolulu & Diamondhead, the classic view
We made sure to enjoy Honolulu's famous food & treat spots | Lampert's Ice Cream fresh Hawaiian flavors | Duke's Canoe Cafe & Barefoo Bar
Honolulu Night Lights | from the glass elevator in the Ilikai resort | Fire Dancer at the beach
A group from a local hula dance school gave wonderful "practice" performances in the plaza in front of our condos | Hula at the Plaza
Mary Osorio & Phyllis took us to Wednesday night's at Ilikai where friends regularly played classic Hawaiian music and local hula dancers took turns stepping up to dance. It was so great, we went every Wednesday we were there.
We spent a relaxing day at Mike & Phyll's kayaking off their back dock | This is the life!
The Waikiki Aquarium has the best living coral exhibits & beautiful jelly fish | Love this smiling fish!
 Fun in the Sun
at Turtle Beach | Devon | Jasmine
 Sunset Beach Time
Devon took some of her "squiggly night light pictures"
Friday Night Fireworks! On the last Friday night, we all walked out to the docks on Waikiki beach to watch the Friday night fireworks that the Hilton puts on.
