 St. Lucia July 28th - August 4th, 2010 | Our Honeymoon
Happy 1st Anniversary! You were the love of my life the day I married you! & you still are the love of my life today & tomorrow! I LOVE YOU! - your loving wife - Michaela © 2010
We were so excited when we got engaged. Everyone thought we were crazy for waiting 2 years, but we wanted everything to be perfect! Planning our wedding was one of the most work intensive, emotional, and yet greatest things that we had ever planned for. All of our hard work paid off... the wedding was beyond BEAUTIFUL! Everything went as planned & never in our lives did we think that our end of July wedding could be in the low 80's with no humidity. After a crazy pre-wedding week, Wedding Day, and then dealing with the after math of our Big day we were beyond exhausted. But it didn't matter, we were NEWLYWEDS!
Our flight left very early that morning. We were up by 4am, tired but very excited! We were newly wed; nothing could have wipped the smile off of our faces. We flew from Omaha into Atlanta. | & then Atlanta into ST. LUCIA!!
After a long day of travel we were very ready to get to our room & relax. However, the 1 1/2 hour trip, in addition to the long, curvy road, and terrifying traffic made us praise God when we did finally see the resort entrance!

 Welcome | to
 ST. LUCIA!
 We're | together
 Nothin' better then . . . | sittin' on\ the beach . . .
a drink in hand. . . | next to my new husband --- wife.
Lovers Cove | Our 1st snorkel experience in St. Lucia was at the Lovers Cove. It was truly amazing!
The Lovers Cove was the perfect spot to begin our favorite activity. The vibrant colors of the underwater world were beyond breathtaking! We swam, exploring the waters, hand-in-hand. Once Michaela figured out how to breath through the mouth piece vs. holding her breath there was no holding her back... we were our own fishes! We enjoyed it so much we made sure to go every chance we got.
We took a catamaran ride to the town, Soufriere. Here we enjoyed lunch, a tour of the worlds only walk-in sulfuric volcano, a rejuvenating dip in the mineral-enriched run-off, & we discovered some of the flowers from the islands forest.
1 of the largest waterfalls on the island. The colors change within it as the seasons change - the metals in the water change.
As our time in St. Lucia grew to a close we couldn't believe how fast our week had went by. As one last excursion, we decided to avoid the car-sickness and take a helicopter ride back to the airport. It was a ride of a lifetime! We thought after a week of exploring the island we had seen it all - we couldn't have been more wrong. St. Lucia from the up above was even more beautiful! Our 15 minute ride, was short but we were able to see so much. It was such an unbelievable experience!
There is nothing like being married & enjoying those first moments as Mr.& Mrs! As we look back and the memories that we had of our honeymoon couldn't be any better. We laughed together, loved, & simply enjoyed the beginnings of what will be the rest of our lives!
