109: Our top take-aways from the trip: | Britney: 1. There is a lot of world out there she has yet to see and little that she already knows. 2. She gained a new fascination for learning languages and the importance of doing so. She wishes our school system would teach dual languages early on. 3. Slow down. There's not one way you have to live - and it doesn't have to be fast. Life moves on. | Jamie: 1.Italians are very vocal whether they think you're cute (they won't hold back a "ciao bella") or whether they are angry you bumped them on a crowded bus, you probably won't have to guess much what they're thinking. 2. Italians are really good at being hot - in the warm sense! They maintain their "bella figure" with tailored pants even on hot days, plus there is often no AC. 3. Italians seem to be very European - things are slow, trains aren't necessarily on time, people take forever to eat, and stroll before dinner, just for fun! | Britt: 1. Didn't realize Venice was a Republic for 1000 years -- wants to learn more about it! 2. He enjoys some of the touristy stuff, but more of observing and participating in the different culture. His favorite restaurants were those outside of touristy places. 3. His memory was refreshed in La Spezia why it's so important to book a hotel by a train station! | FUN FACT: | Over the course of the trip, we consumed over 13.25 L (or 18 BOTTLES) of wine!
