FC: Adventures in Lake Tahoe August 2011

Lake Tahoe | In August 2011, we all took a family trip to Lake Tahoe, Nevada. The weather was perfect and the scenery was beautiful. We enjoyed a week of hanging out at the Lake, playing in the sand, swimming, river rafting, jet skiing, paddle boarding, and just relaxing.

Day 1 - On our first day, we drove around to see the city and saw a couple beaches. We were going to stay at one, but it was a private beach, so we decided to go back to our resort and went swimming at pool. Papa started making lunch at the pool BBQ, but it was "hot dog" day and we got kicked off, but in return, they gave us some free hot dogs. Nana had a little friend to play with at the pool. Then, after our nap, we went to Regan Beach to eat dinner - KFC.

Day 2 - We had another easy day, starting with a run for Mama and Papa. Then we spent the morning at the pool. Later we drove to Camp Richardson to have dinner. It was a little slow getting dinner started - Papa and Lola were having a little trouble trying to get the BBQ started - not enough coals, too many ashes, but it was definitely worth the wait - the steak, corn, and beans were delicious. Later that night, Uncle Jones, Tita Gerald, JV, Jethro and Julianne arrived.

Day 3 - We decided to spend the day in the sun at Zephyr Cove where we floated along in our blow-up raft and surfboard. The kids had a blast in the lake and in the sand.!

Day 4 - We went River Rafting at Truckee River. It was a first time for most of us, but we quickly got the hang of it. It was a lot of fun. Lola packed some wraps for lunch and then we had saw an ice cream truck along the way and had a treat. Papa had a scare when Lola lost his money clip, but after searching for a long time, Lola found it in the bag of wraps.

We did a quick stopover to overlook Emerald Bay - what a beautiful view. | Then we had some adobo for dinner that Lola made at Regan Beach. The kids had fun just running around.

On our downtime, we enjoyed hanging out at the Resort, eating dinner, swimming at the pool, and playing billiards and table tennis.

Day 5 - We decided to take it easy after a day of river rafting. In the morning, we went on a hike on the hiking trail behind the resort, but we didn't get to the top because it got too steep for us. Papa came back the next day by himself and made it all the way cause he's a stud.

Later in the evening, we enjoyed an awesome salmon dinner that Papa cooked at Nevada State Beach, while playing around and enjoying the sunset.

Day 6 - We did as much as we could on our last full day, starting with standup paddleboarding, jet skiing, and just hanging out at Round Hill Pine Resort

For some friendly competition, we played mini golf at Heavenly Village. The kids had a lot of fun and actually did a good job - check out the look of determination.

Afterwards, we had dinner at Wolfgang Puck Express.

The kids started to have a little fun to burn off dinner.

And stopped over at Cold Stone Creamery for some ice cream cake for Javi's 3rd Birthday celebration. | Then we took a stroll around Heavenly Village...

Day 7 - Our last morning in Lake Tahoe, we packed up, checked out of the resort and made one last stop at Taylor Creek.

After visiting Taylor Creek, we ate lunch at Hunan Garden and said our final farewell to Lake Tahoe. Can't wait for our next family trip.
