BC: ---to our next adventure

FC: Leap Year Anniversary Cruise Feb.27-March 9, 2012 | 12th Anniversary | 48 Years

2: We flew into Ft. Lauderdale and boarded the Zuiderdam the next morning for a 5:00 departure. | George tests his new iPad for the trip.

3: Escorted by a show-off Coast Guard.

4: HollandAmerica Island-First Port of Call

6: We decide to do something on Half Moon Cay that we've never done before . It was a blast---even if the guy did "duck" tape the line just before we went up! | Parasailing | George, maybe they will just land us on our balcony!

8: We had a fantastic Happy 12th Anniversary celebrations(48 wonderful years).We started off the day with room service breakfast and watching Fox News wish happy Leap Year birthdays and anniversaries--- | Our Special Day

9: ---and we finished the day having champagne with our new friends at the formal dinner night. | Joan & Barbara from London, England. | Fran, Joan, and Ann from Buffalo, New York.

10: "What's for dinner?" | "Wake me when it flashes!"

11: Doing a lot of nothing! | "Bad Hair Day!"

12: Aruba's first inhabitants were the Caquetios Indians. With the arrival in 1499, the Spanish promptly exported the Indians to Santo Domingo. After an Eighty Year's War with Holland, the Dutch took possession of Aruba. Although it continues to exist within the kingdom of the Netherlands, it functions independently. | Oranjestad, Aruba | ---First Port of Call

13: We enjoyed strolling the streets and admiring all the beautiful colorful buildings. It was a very small town and the crowd was very large. We soon went back to the ship and enjoyed an afternoon by the pool.

14: Kralendijk, Bonaire | The second of the "ABC" Dutch islands.. There are no rivers in Bonaire hence the pristine waters!

15: There are more flamingos here than people---so we were told!

16: Willemstad, Curacao | ---the 3rd of the ABC Islands! | The walking swing bridge across the channel.

17: Our favorite island!

18: Hitch Hikers!

19: I could do this forever! | And this!!!

20: Formal Nights- | & a very special dinner!

22: Panama Canal | The highlight of the cruise--- entering the canal and rising 85 feet above sea level to Gatun Lake. We arrived at dawn, approach the locks and the cable cars on the side pulled us into each lock. Great adventure!

24: The Return Trip | Four inch clearance!

25: Going through the canal in the next lane was a huge cargo ship. We felt we could almost touch the ship. We could even say hello to their workers.

26: Colon, Panama

28: Banana Plantation

29: Costa Rica | Making brown sugar! | The Orchid House!

30: Saying Good-bye | Friends Forever
