FC: MOOREA March 12-19 , 2011
Approaching Moorea, on board the Royal Princess
Fond memories of the Club Bali Hai Resort and Cook's Bay, before we saw our room...
Not-so-fond memories of the Club Bali Hai Resort (Why is she smiling??) | After one sleepless night, we moved to the Hilton...
This is the view from our deck at the Hilton Moorea Resort
We drove all the way around the island in about 3 hours; this is another view of Cook's Bay with the cruise ship Paul Gauguin anchored
Moorea is 15 miles from Tahiti but reflects a much less hectic lifestyle than its neighbor island. There are no stop signs (and almost no traffic) on the one road that goes all the way around Moorea.
The view from Le Belvedere Lookout
Beautiful sunsets from the resort beach
The Royal Princess anchored in Cook's Bay, Moorea
Snorkeling in Moorea, with stingrays and black-tip sharks
The lagoon is so shallow that boats must use a one-way path, with markers at intervals along the way
Just another lousy sunset in paradise...
 Tahitian dancers at the Hilton
This is a Baliste Picasso, or Whitebanded Triggerfish. These photos were taken in the lagoon near our room, while snorkeling with JD and Travis
 Above - blue Crocea clam
Crown of Thorns starfish | Black Spiny Sea Urchin | Holothuria fuscocinerea sea cucumber | ... all photographed in the Hilton Lagoon
