FC: The Ostrander Family Annual Camping Get-togethers 1990-2013 | Est.1990 | 24 years of camping fun

1: It all began in 1990 at | Okay was this your sneaky trick?? | We were not prepared for all this rain! Drying socks,shoes and other articles of clothing was a must! | Rain | Rain | and MORE RAIN! | The weekend wasn't a total wash. We did get in some walking, driving, seeing deer and raccoons. We spent much time trying to put up tarps and trying to stay warm and dry! | Our 1st family camping trip was planned months ahead and everyone was very excited to gather together and share a time of fun and laughter. We didn't know that it would turn into a family tradition that would span over 2 decades.

2: Sibley State Park 1991 | The boat ride that never happened | Various activities and people were the highlights of this years camping | Yummy Food | It was agreed that Father's Day Weekend would be our special time to get together each year | HOT

3: Raindrops keep falling on my head | William O'Brien State Park 1992 | Visitors Yvonne and Jerry | Making yummy Bouja | sing-a-longs were a big part in the early years

4: St Croix in the rain...again! 1993 | late night activities | friendly visitors | singing was a ritual the first several years

5: 1994 Camp-in-the-Woods | cousins visit again, more singing, no rain (ya-hoo), more great food and family time!!

6: 1995 Camperville This was by far the Hottest camping weekend we have had so far! We spent lots of time in the swimming pool...along with tons of others and also spent a lot of time under the large canopy. We also listened to a noisy woodpecker that kept pecking at a metal sign all weekend long. Tony was less than 3 months old and our newest family member.

7: 1996 Camp-in-the-Woods | just in case it rains...again, but it didn't | visitors from Illinois old time friend Shirley and her friend Deb.More singing, swimming and games.

8: 1997 Camp-in-the-Woods | joking around with Barry's little car | Wedding Party

10: Camp-in-the-Woods 1999 | Sally is always creating different camping food | Having visitors like Jeremy, Justin and Mary are always welcome in our camp! | Just hanging around! | Waiting for Bouja for supper

11: Rainbow Wood | Camp-in-the-Woods 2000 | There's always good cookin' & visiting going on | we really did used to play physical games... | ...even young and old alike played together | Ron and Sue were off for a motorcycle ride

12: Enjoying a beautiful day | 2001 our last year at Camp-in-the-Woods | one last game of Bocce Ball | Ron acting goofy... again | Buzz carving his wood work | Ron making a deep fried turkey for supper | Jan, the campground owner joining us for our last breakfast

13: Fish Trap Lake 2002 | yummy breakfast of scrambled egg mess | thanks Hunt Family for being frequent visitors! | singing Happy Birthday to Bruce

14: Ron's last year with us (sorry no photo of him!) | Cokato Lake 2003 | Mary & Jake were surprised by a little 25th wedding anniversary celebration

15: 2nd time at Sibley State Park brought visitors... Jake's sister Linda and Mom's cousin Jerry and wife Lucy. Glad to have you! | 2004 Sibley State Park | over look at Mt Tom | The Jacobson Family | Mom visiting with Jerry and Lucy | Eating again!

16: Baylor Regional Park 2005 | our 1st year at | various weekend happenings

17: Baylor Regional Park 2006 | nice fashion statement Mom! | cooling off | just hanging out | Pepe LePew | Four Generations | Tony and a crawdad | Kim & Barb out for a stroll | who's turtle?

18: Rice Creek Chain of Lakes 2007 | Barry couldn't be with us anymore but part of his family continue to visited when possible | Missy and Amber playing Barbie Dolls | visitors Jerry, Walt, Lois and Yvonne; also Kathy and kids visited | Tony seriously interested in Buzz's carving techniques | taking a dip to cool off | Mom's boo-boo, she bumped into the camper doorway | Jake had a serious boo-boo,he needed to go to the ER for stitches

19: Schroeder Park 2008 | Happy Campers: Kelly, Sally, David & Adrian | oooh sunbathers Barb, Ceara, Destiny and Elizabeth | Cutting Tony's hair, Good job!! | Mom, what the heck?!

20: 2009 Schroeder Park, again | Mom's last year camping with us | passing the time playing Sequence | Adrian just "hanging around" | our new little cook Grant | Sue enjoying a Rootbeer Barrel | William & Kathy visiting

21: 2010 William O'Brien State Park | new to our group is Josh and Ben | Nurse Buzz helping out yet again | a unique tree for unique poses | great weather all weekend despite having storm threats in the area on Friday

22: Flandrau State Park 2011 | heat exhaustion hit Jake | waiting for the Glockenspiel in New Ulm | surprise for the Sisters

23: painting toe nails, eating, visiting, hiking, eating, rain, fishing eating | 2012 Mille Lacs Kathio State Park | biscuits & gravy for breakfast, yummy | Buzz was given a special award for his medical help over the years

24: Baylor Regional Park 2013 | new visitors & campers | Did it rain...oh yes and stormed! tree damage ...lucky no one was hurt | food??? you bet! Scrambled egg mess | Ben is either tired or bored, I think it was tired

25: Yearly Highlights 1990-Rain,coons, deer, roasting shoes/sox 1991-Hot! Al's boat broke down. Kathy & Nic came 1992-cold, rainy; Yvonne & Jerry visited 1993-rain-again! mom's deer tic; deer, bear,coons and rain! 1994-warm, croquet, mini golf, big group, many visitors 1995-HOT & DRY! noisy woodpecker,swimming 1996-celebrated K&K's wedding, Ill.visitors Shirley & Deb 1997-Barry's little yellow car, S&A's 25th anniversary/mock wedding 1998-a quiet weekend just hanging around 1999-some light rain, many visitors, Bouja 2000-biggest turn-out! chilly;Rainbow wood,Buzz's carvings 2001- warm; bocce ball, swimming. Last year at C in W 2002-green worms in trees, swimming, fishing 2003-hot, M&J's 25th anniversary swimming. Ron's last year with us 2004-visitors Jerry & Lucy,Linda;swimming,fishing,hiking 2005-nice! big telescope, beach, boardwalk 2006-hot; heavy thunderstorm, Barry's last year with us 2007-hot; nice beach, visitors, Jake's medical emergency, Mom's bad bruise and cut 2008-camping dish towels, severe thunderstorm, Elizabeth gave Tony a haircut 2009-warm, Kathy & family visited. Mom's last year to camp 2010-hot,bad storms all around us, brought our "Barry Bears" with, interesting hollow tree 2011-hot, muggy turned to cool, wet; another Jake medical 2012-hot, muggy again turned cool, wet. Fishing, small group 2013- mostly nice, heavy thunderstorm, tree damage, new Barry Bears & bags, new people camping/visiting And the adventures continue.....
