S: Our Alaskan Honeymoon
FC: Our Alaskan Honeymoon by Brad and Sara Bies
Our Alaskan Honeymoon by Brad and Sara Bies | We drove over one thousand miles in six days. We saw the most incredible sights we have ever seen. We got to do it together. We wouldn't change a thing.
Alaska was incredible. Words cannot describe it's greatness and pictures do this place little justice. If there is one place you need to visit in your lifetime, it's Alaska.
DENALI NATIONAL PARK is a gigantic National Park that is full of natural beauty and wild animals. There is one road in the park and besides the first 15 miles, it is closed to cars. This place was our favorite stop in Alaska. A must see.
THE MOUNTAIN | The people of Alaska prefer to call Mount McKinley, Denali. In Denali National Park, it is simply called the mountain. The Mountain is so large that it creates it's own weather. Only roughly 30 percent of people who visit the park actually get to see the Mountain because of the clouds. We were lucky enough to be included in that 30 percent.
We also saw a good variety of wild animals. We got within 50 yards of a female moose and within 100 yards of a bear. All from the safety of the bus!
 Portage Glacier
Portage Glacier was another beautiful spot. The water was so incredibly blue. It is truly something you can only experience in person.
Our trip to Alaska was truly a trip of a lifetime. We experienced rough seas and then spent a rainy afternoon fishing in the bay. The fishing was slow, and just as we were getting ready to call the whole trip a bust, a whale surfaced within yards of boat. The whale made several more appearances over the next two hours. It was incredible and a once in a lifetime experience.
Homer, Alaska | THE END OF THE ROAD Homer, Alaska is located on the Kenai Peninsula. It is the furtherest west that you can drive in North America. It has some absolutely breath taking views, and when the ocean is at low tide it seems like a whole different place.
HOMER, ALASKA We went walking on the beach at low tide with coats and rain boots on. We didn't find any exciting creatures, but just being there was an incredible experience. We are very happy to have done this together.
 Farewell Alaska... until next time....
