Trees blowing in the wind, birds chirping and then WOOHOO!!! That's the sound of my friends jumping with joy as they hop of the bus and step foot onto Covenant Heights campground. This is one of my many memories that I have from Outdoor Ed this year. Before I left, I was very nervous about a lot of things. Would I have roommates I wanted? What were the activities? Would the hike be hard? Outdoor Ed was much better than I thought it would be. I loved my roommates because we gossiped and laughed. The trip was fun and exciting. The activities and classes were fun and never boring. The interactive activities, the scrumptious food, and the long hike made this Outdoor Ed trip outstanding.

During the campfire, John made us get up to sing and dance along to a song.

The meals at Outdoor Ed were served buffet style which is my favorite.

During the hike, our guide stopped every 15 minutes to talk and take a water break.

The interactive activities were one thing that I really enjoyed about Outdoor Ed. The first thing I liked about the activities were the classes. My favorite class was Map and Compass. During Map and Compass, my partner and I tried to find different points with our Compass. My partner and I were extremely competitive so we had to hurry, so we would win. The zipline was an amazing experience. It felt like I was flying. On my second turn on the zipline, I went upside down. The campfire was fun and exciting because the Outdoor Ed staff did skits and sang songs. “Surviving” was the main goal of the Survival Game. I had to run away from the teachers because they had water guns and if i got shot i had to give up my life card. The activities were super fun. One activity that is not a good idea is playing with my food.

One of the skits during the campfire was when the four boys sat down and fell through the chair.

One of the classes was Map and Compass. During Map and Compass, we used our compasses to find certain trees.

During the Survival Game, the teachers had water guns and they were trying to squirt the kids.

The scrumptious food is one thing that I will miss. The food was absolutely delectable. My favorite meal was the creamy, delicious chicken pot pie. It was as good as ice cream on a hot day. Also, if I didn't like one thing, I could get something else because there was a lot of variety. I loved how I never was hungry until the next appetizing meal. The best thing about the meals were I could sit by however I desired. The bad part was that I had to drink a glass of water before I could receive my next meal. Thankfully I didn't get hungry on the hike.

On the last day at Outdoor Ed, we had pizza. The pizza was absolutely outstanding.

I love how I got to sit by all of my friends during the meals.

The camp instructor John made us dance like a moose on caffeine in order to go into the dining hall.

The hike was fun and enjoyable. For me the hike was not challenging at all, it was a walk in the mountains. We got to stop and do activities along the way. On the way back down the mountain, the guide pointed out a tree that smelled like vanilla and butterscotch. The adventurous hike was about two hours long. The most exciting part about the hike was when we say a hawk. The hike took up the majority of the time on the second day. Hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park was a great experience.

Our mountain guide Sarah let us take breaks during our hike.

On the hike we found a Ponderosa Pine that smelled like vanilla and butterscotch.

On our hike we saw a hawk eating worms for his lunch.

“A day without laughter is a day wasted” Charlie Chaplin said. The interactive activities were outstanding. Food oh food it was the best in the world. Hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park was a thrilling adventure. Outdoor Ed was an astonishing experience that I will always remember.

On the second day the Outdoor Ed staff took us to a field, and we played a bunch of games.

The girls played volleyball with Mrs. Janicik during one of the breaks.

During our breaks, we played a fun game called gaga ball that was full of action and excitement.
