FC: Road Trip 2009

During six days we traveled over 1500 miles, from Washington State to Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks, and home again. What a beauty God has created for us, and what a blessing to be able to share it.

Deer Lodge, Montana | We stopped to take a walking tour of an old prison, and hang out with a few friendly inmates.

During our tour, we met a former warden of the jail who shared his memories with us.

We enjoyed gettng to see hundreds of beautifully restored cars at the auto museum.

On our first evening in West Yellowstone, we stopped at the Grizzley Discovery Center

Bright and early the next day, we headed into Yellowstone to travel the lower loop. | We saw a bison, elk, and mountain goat along the way.

As we drove, we saw steam rising from everywhere. When we stopped to look, we learned that there are actually four types of hydrothermal elements: hot springs, geysers, mud pots, and fumaroles. We were able to see a bit of everything.

 Old Faithful!

Heading home we detoured to Glacier National Park, traveling the Going to the Sun Road, though we did see more clouds than sun.
