S: San Diego, CA November 2010

1: Friday November 5, 2010 We arrived 20 minutes early in San Diego, so we shuttled to Enterprise Rent-A-Car to meet Jack Ryan and Kaye. We were given a nice red Chevy Impala to drive. We headed downtown San Diego for lunch. We dined at Basic – a pizza eatery. Kaye, JR and Jerrard had their signature salad, and we all shared a pepperoni and meatball pizza. After we ate, we noticed we were by the Gaslamp area, so we walked downtown for a while. We happened to find Petco Stadium – home of the Padres. The stadium is right in the middle of downtown. We walked through the Gaslamp area, but it was just an area of downtown. There wasn't anything in particular to see. We then went to Old Town. This area had old buildings and shops – such as leather, tobacco and post offices. They also had some restaurants, but we continued on to the Mission Bay and La Jolla areas. We were hoping to get to go on the beach, but we weren't able to find a parking place. We headed to the hotel to freshen up and relax for a few hours before heading to diner. We dined at Gringo’s – a Mexican restaurant – in the Mission Bay area. | San Diego

12: The end of Day 1

24: Coronado

31: Saturday November 6, 2010 We started out with breakfast at the hotel bright and early. We headed to the San Diego Zoo for 9:00 and made it through by noon. It was a really nice/large zoo. Kaye and I had a lot of fun playing with our camera settings. After the zoo, we rode thru Balboa Park. There are TONS of museums here. We didn't have time to stop, but I would like to if I ever come back. We ate lunch/watched LSU beat Bama at the East Village Bar/Bowling Alley. After the game, we headed to the Coronado Area. This is the most expensive real estate in the US. The Floridian Hotel at Disney World is built after this hotel. We walked along the beach, and even got to put our feet in. The water was really cold! We walked around the hotel and made it back to the beach to see the sunset. It was BEAUTIFUL. We drove back to the hotel to freshen up, and we headed to Solare (Italian) for dinner. I wasn't too hungry, so I just had the Caesar salad. The food is described to us as fabulous you like Halloween ravioli. We should get a lot of sleep tonight too – time changes tonight.
