FC: Simpson Desert French Line & Madigan Track September 2009
1: From Mackay to Birdsville, on to Mt Dare via the French-line and returning home via the Madigan track the Simpson Desert provided many delights. | For three weeks we 4WD through the red centre of Australia. The Simpson Desert via the explorer Madiagan's footsteps will be a family trip to remember.
2: Mackay - Birdsville The corrugation was an adventure in itself, however the remoteness, dust and angry locals added excitement to the road trip to the Simpson Desert.

16: The Madigan Track The Simpson Desert Expedition Dr C.T. Madigan with 8 men and 17 camels left here on the 7th June 1939 and arrived in Birdsville 29 days later.

19: The Madigan Track Group Camp 1 to Camp 25 Ten days through the Simpson desert with amazing people and many adventures. From broken cars, days traveling no faster than 10km/hr, getting bogged at Ayre Creek, many great conversations and lots of lizard hunting.
