7: The Praca do Comércio | The wealth from the colonies flooded into Lisbon from this square. On the south side is the River Tejo while the north exit passes beneath the grand Arco da Rua Augusta. The square is enclosed by traditional yellow painted government buildings and standing in the centre is a statue of King John I facing out to the Atlantic Ocean.

8: Rossio Square | Rossio is one of the most beautiful squares in Lisbon. In the middle of the square there's a statue of Dom Pedro IV and at its foot the four female figures representing Justice, Wisdom, Strength and Moderation, qualities attributed to Dom Pedro himself.
