S: Spain and Morocco 2011

FC: SPAIN and MOROCCO July 2011

1: Costa del Sol | Seville | Ronda | Madrid | Tangier

2: My mom and I traveled to Spain the summer of my high school graduation. We arrived in Madrid in the morning, and took the metro to the old city. Ate a traditional lunch with Jamon (Spanish version of prosciutto) and melon and wonderful crusty bread. Later we headed to the Plaza Mayor, saw Elvis, and did some shopping.

6: After leaving Madrid, we took the high-speed bullet train to the Costa del Sol. Home for the next week was a condominium at the Sunset Beach Club in Benalmadena, Spain. on the beach on the Mediterranean coast. The view from the balcony was amazing!

8: Julle (Finland), me, and John (Norway)

9: We picked up the rented Skoda and drove the winding mountain roads to Ronda.

10: Ronda is known for the steep canyon that divides the city in two. The pictures above were taken from this balcony!

20: On the way to Seville, we drove through miles of olive orchards and flowers

22: The Seville Cathedral was completed in 1506 and took over 100 years to build. It was built on top of a Muslim mosque ofter the Reconquista. This is the largest Gothic cathedral and the third largest church in the world, with over 80 chapels.

24: We took part in the evening paseo when families stroll the streets at night. | Seville at night

25: Tarifa, Spain to Tangier, Morocco, Africa ...by ferry | Straight of Gibraltar - merging of the Atlantic and the Mediterranean

26: 800 year old Banyon tree | a walk through the medina (old town)

27: trying new foods

28: joining a pickup game of soccer on the beach in Morocco, Africa
