Great shade for my camera lens, you think of everything! | Checking out which hikes to take in the morning! | Sun splashed view or solar flare, you decide! | Will's first stop is to buy a thrifty nifty film camera from the Jenny Lake Store. His photos have a nice soft retro feel.
Uber tool, the iphone. Can't leave home without it! | Did I turn off the iron? | Kodachrome! You give us those nice bright colors, you give us the greens of summers, makes you think all the world's a sunny day, oh yeah! I got a Nikon camera, I love to take a photograph! So Mama, don't take my Kodachrome away! | Traveling a couple of days to get here - ready to hike!
This was a nice area with a trail that went along the water. It was nice to be out walking after the drive to reach The Grand Tetons National Park.
Enjoying the fresh breeze and stretching our legs.
After checking with the rangers in the visitors center we looked around and located Jenny Lake. This is where we decided to hike in the morning. Jackson We stayed in Jackson Hole not far from the town square. We tried the buffalo burger from Cadillac Grille, tasty! Jackson Hole is wanting to drop the "Hole" out of their name and go by "Jackson". This caused us some confusion until we were enlightened. The Teton Village is an upscale Resort now, new shops, stores and new lodging.
The reflections in the water were perfect with the water so still. | Will took wonderful photos with his nifty camera. This is a favorite photo, shot close to the ground, looking towards the mountains.
We hit the trail bright and early to hike to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point. The hike took us around Jenny Lake. Much of the time we had the trail all to ourselves.
Hidden Falls was a beautiful area. The trail was not easy to follow at times, some bridges were out and waiting to be repaired.
Winter had brought heavy snow to the mountains and the waterfalls and lakes were full.
There is something about being in nature, hiking with family that replenishes the spirit. We can discuss world events, chart our course and reach a new destination one step at a time. | We reached Inspiration Point. The view was beautiful and we took a break to relax and look around. Jenny Lake was stretched out below. What was Jenny's husband's name.... Beaver _____?
Boats went back and forth across the lake carrying passengers who did not want to hike around the lake to reach Inspiration Point.
Will on Observation Point overlooking Jenny Lake. We had a short rest here, took in the view and snapped a few photos.
One of several several wooden bridges we crossed on our hike.
Gratuitous log shot. After hiking a couple of miles, it feels good to rest for a moment. The moment is over - we can't dilly-dally. Grab the backpack and hit the trail! We have a whole day of hiking ahead.
Bradley lake was beautiful! Will hiked ahead of us. He called to warn us about a moose. We don't know if we were more surprised to see the moose or that we had cell service!
Trees to the left of me, trees to the right. Here I am, stuck in the middle with you. | Grand Tetons National Park, been there, hiked that!
