1: Summary of Augusta, Maine Augusta, Maine is located in the United States in the north east. Augusta is the capitol of Maine. It is located by the Kennebec River. The capitol building was officially made the capitol of Maine in 1827. But legislature did not met there until 1843. An amendment states that Augusta will be the state capitol forever. | . | elcivics.com

2: flickr.com | The first people to live in Augusta, Maine where the Indigenous People. They were there thousand of years of years before European explores arrived. The first recorded explores were the Popham Colony, the came in September,1607. The Plymouth Colony came to trade with the Popham Colony in 1625. Augusta. Maine was abandoned around 1676 due to developed conflict on the Maine frontier. King Phillip's War marked the beginning of decades of unrest. Settlers didn't reappear until the mid-18th century. Boston Settlers formed a company called the Kennebec Propretors. Then the settlers built Fort Western in 1754.

6: One of the museums is the Maine State Museum. It tells you everything from the Popham Colony to the Civil War flags exhibits! At the museum it tells you a lot about the Civil War. Also if you to the Old Western Fort you can see where the soldiers stayed during the war. A fun entertainment is the Children Discovery Museum.

8: Maine's climate is pretty typical it's warm in the summer and cold in the winter. The best time to go to Augusta, Maine is summer. You should pack casual clothes. Remember to pack clothes for warm weather. | googleimages.com

9: The People in Maine speak English. They do use the American money system. The food that the people usually eat are seafood. Don't worry cause they also eat other types of food. 11: Let the journey begin | Dear journal, Today is the first day I stayed in Maine. The landscape was breathe taking. The skyline is unforgettable! All of the different lights where so pretty. Well I'm staying in the Hilton Hotel, and I better get some rest for more exploring tomorrow. I'm going to the Capitol Building tomorrow. I'm so excited!! | city-data.com

12: Dear Journal, Today was a blast!!! The capitol was so pretty with the tall white pillars. When we got inside the building it was nice and cool. Which felt nice because it was 85 degrees outside.. Anyways I went to a restaurant called Riverfront Barbeque & Grille. It was so good I had the kids mac and cheese! It was delicious!! I'm getting tired but I'll wright tomorrow so bye! | yelp.com

13: Dear Journal, I went to the Children's Discovery Museum today.. I had so much fun. All of the bright colors where so fascinating. But after that I went to the Hattie's Chowder House. I had the famous lobster stew. It was delightful. All of the flavors where like heaven in your mouth. Well I have to hit the hay!! Goodnight.

14: Dear Journal, After I left the Hilton Hotel. I went to the Old Western Fort. It was amazing to see what people back then had during the 1700s. I found it really interesting to see such a old fort is still standing today!!! That's crazy!! Well I should probably go now cause I have so much to explore!! | flickr.com

15: Overland Park, Kansas has a plaza while Augusta, Maine doesn't. Overland Park doesn't have a civil war exhibit however Augusta does. Augusta, Maine and Overland Park, Kansas are both small towns. | overlandparkrealestate.biz | newenglandmagazine.com
