BC: DEPARTED | North Carolina | 17 Jan 2013
Kill Devil Hills | North Carolina | ARRIVED August 29, 2012 | The name Kill Devil Hills dates back to the Colonial era. Shipwrecks were common at the time, and many of the ships were transporting barrels of rum. When a ship foundered, local wreckers would scavenge what they could of the ship's cargo before it sank, hiding their pilfered rum behind, and sometimes in, the same large sand dunes where the Wright Brothers would later perform glider tests, before flying their first plane from level ground nearby. Since rum was called "Kill Devil" by the English at the time the dunes became known as "Kill Devil Hills
I can't believe it!! I am finally going to a place I have dreamed of ever since I was a child...a place where kangaroos roam, where I will get to hold the cutest sleepy bears in the world and a place where the ocean is full of amazing world renowned reefs and sea life. Australia Here I Come!
We stopped in St. Louis Missouri to stretch our legs. St. Louis was such a beautiful city. We were able to see Bush Stadium and the Gateway Arch.
I was able to run in a 5K for Breast Cancer, run in the OBX half Marathon, go to the D.C. Temple, try many different types of sea food, and go on many other adventures. I wouldn't trade it for anything.
Carrie Underwood Concert | On November 3, 2012 Brenda and I traveled to Charlotte, NC to the Time Warner Cable Arena, and saw Carrie Underwood and Hunter Hayes. Charlotte is about six hours away, so we had a fun little road trip!
