S: A Summer to Remember - India, France, England 2012
FC: An Incredible Journey....
1: All those seats and I'm stuck beside him!! | And so it begins....Bangalore to Puttaparthi July 4, 2012 | Oh Happy Days...here in India
2: Ahhhh, the cows, the cows, the cows were everywhere! Streets, sidewalks, and temples! Such beautiful creatures!
3: The girls at the Gokulum...Aveena seems to be having one of the only Aveena moments of the trip...she cheered up as the afternoon moved on! Quiana is surely in her element...ahhh look at the little Indian girls! | Prashanti Nilayam - Gokulum and The Super Specialty Hospital
4: Dad and his coconuts..... the man just can't get enough!
5: July 4th to 6th Puttaparthi Incredible experiences of peace and belonging....now off to Bangalore and Varanasi!
6: Floating blissfully down the Ganges River | Varanasi, Kashi or Benares
7: In Varanasi we stayed at the Taj Hotel. We saw many Hindu and Buddhist temples. But the highlight would have been the trip down the Ganges and going to the University of Benares, where dad's great-grandfather was a Professor of Sanskrit!
8: We left Varanasi via train...and went to Agra...home of the Taj Mahal then drove to Jaipur | Magadh Express from Varanasi to Agra, July 9 then on to Jaipur
10: A beautiful sprinkle of rain at the Taj Mahal- Truly one of the most beautiful structures in the world...all for Love | Looking out over the front of the Taj to the front gate, over the gardens
11: The time in Agra and Jaipur was absolutely amazing...we saw many Mogul palaces and forts along with experienced life through a traditional Rajastani meal. But the greatest adventure was having our van break down on the highway between Agra and Jaipur! | Breakfast at the Jaipree Palace | We stayed at the Jaypee Palace Hotel in Agra then on to the Trident in Jaipur | Amazing Grace....... | Rani Lakshmibai -great female freedom fighter
12: Yes, that's gas all over the road!! | We, had the time of our lives....
13: Check out the dude in the hat!!!! Maharaja or Maharaj?
14: Amritsar was filled with beauty and excitement! We took the trip to the India Pakistan border - Wagah border to see the flag ceremony and of course saw the magnificent Golden Temple
15: Delhi was filled with many things to see such as the Qutub Minar, and Humayun's Tomb. We flew to Amritsar on July 13th and then to New Delhi July 14th - 16th | The temperature in New Delhi was very hot and humid...it got up o 35 degrees Celsius but with the humidity it felt like 45! However we were told that we were lucky to have missed the HOT weather by a week! Thank goodness!
16: Goa...the most beautiful place in India! Lush and green and tropical. The Arabian Sea....in the middle of Monsoon season, a beautiful sight to behold.
17: The India part of the trip is quickly coming to a close, with only two days left in Mumbai. Goa proved to be a beautiful, restful place to relax and recoup before leaving India. We even saw St. Francis Xavier's church, tomb and remains. Truly a miraculous being. India was an amazing trip for all of us!
18: Terrific travellers...A1!!! | Off to Paris we go. We arrived in India on July 2nd in Bangalore, and on July 21st we left India from Mumbai. It was a close call with the flight out due to a delay with public transportation causing huge traffic jams at 10:30 pm. Incredible India indeed! | Paan face!!
19: Botanical Gardens | Chowpati Beach...one of the most famous beaches in India, as well as the Dhobi ghat....public laundry facility...Mother Hubbard's shoe too! | Dhobi Ghat
20: Paris, France ...arriving via Air France on July 21st from Mumbai, India, We stayed in Parc Montsouris...Mom loved the subway rides! | To speak French or not, that was the question..especially if you were looking for some brott! | Les Champs Elysees and The Eiffel Tower, mixed in with a lot of cheese, croissants and wine.= Paris! Well, plus some stomach flu from mom, dad, and Ken! Thank goodness for the immodium!
21: Time to say goodbye to Paris...off to the train station to cross the channel to England,
22: London 2012 Host City to the Summer Olympics... We stayed in Congelton, Cheshire County with Aunty Junie, Uncle John, Susan, Annabel and little Jennifer July 25th to July 29th
23: Fields of Lavender and warm, loving family. What more could anyone want....?
25: And so our trip to India, Paris and Congelton, England comes to a close. We fly from Manchester on July 29th to Paris where we stay one night and then depart back for Canada.....arriving home July 30th. Thank you Swami for all your blessings and being with us every step of the way! | A beautiful place to reflect on a beautiful moment, with a beautiful lady! | Happy Days......
