The attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise military strike conducted by the Imperial Japanese Navy against the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on the | morning of December 7, 1941 (December 8 in Japan). The attack was intended as a preventive action in order to keep the U.S. Pacific Fleet from interfering with military actions the Empire of Japan was planning in Southeast Asia against overseas territories of the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and the United States.

13: U.S.S. ARIZONA | the | USS Arizona was a Pennsylvania-class battleship built for and by the United States Navy in the mid-1910s. Named in honor of the 48th state's recent admission into the union, the ship was the second and last of the Pennsylvania class of "super-dreadnought" battleships. Although commissioned in 1916, the ship remained stateside during World War I Shortly after the end of the war, the USS Arizona was one of a number of American ships that briefly escorted President Woodrow Wilson to the Paris Peace Conference.

16: The USS Arizona Memorial shrine was built in honor of those who lost their lives during the Japanese attack on the U.S. Naval Fleet at Pearl Harbor in 1941. This incident, which President Franklin Delano Roosevelt described as a "date which will live in infamy," brought the United States the very next day into World War II. From history we learned that it was in the early morning of December 7, 1941 when Japanese airplanes took off from aircraft carriers for a bombing raid on Pearl Harbor, the site of a U.S. military installation on Oahu, Hawaii.
17: WWII Memorial | In the World War 2 Memorial located in Hawaii has many different stages of World War 2. Such as Pearl Harbor, USS Arizona, and the Aviator Tour. These fine examples once took place during World War 2. They also took a major role just like pearl harbor getting the US to join the World War.
