I am so excited to go to Sweden to visit Antonia and Viktoria!! I have missed them so much since they left after their year of exchange; I have a feeling I won't be able to believe that I'm actually there!!
 City Center
 S t o c k h o l m
THE OLD CITY | The "Old City" was one of my favorite parts of Stockholm. We visited here a few times to go shopping & sit at cafes for lunch of coffee, as Viktoria loved. The way the buildings are squished next to each other is one of the most beautiful parts of Europe to me.
The subway is the main form of transportation around Stockholm. We took it everywhere! Once of those places was the Old City where this café was. It is named after the royalty of Sweden & now has the current Princess & Prince in it. One evening we were welcomed to Kim's house where her dad made us Swedish pancakes!! Fill with jam & whipped cream equals pure deliciousness!
sydney harbor bridge | PARTY | Antonia's uncle had a "biker" themed birthday party that was held at a Swedish biker bar! We got into the spirit and got all dressed up for the occasion - and ended up being the only ones that did dress up! There was a live band, biker bartenders, and a creaky wooden floor buckling under our dancing feet.
Kim made sure I went out on the town one more time during my stay! We had a blast with a few of her friends... as well as baby Jesus! <3
Baby Jesus joined the party... just ask!
After our birthday party evening, we took the train to a restaurant that we had a delicious brunch at then explored the coast for a few hours.
We took a walk through the 'nature reserve near Antonia's house as a nice way to start the day.
THE CLIFF There were a couple of absolutely perfect days that we went to "the cliff" that is near Antonia's house. Here we were able to lay and rest, soak up the sun, and have picnic lunches.
We took the boat into the center of Stockholm one beautiful evening and ate supper at the Grand Hotel, where the celebrities & royalty stay
 The Country House
gorgeous views | sick with a cold
Sweden won the Eurovision Song contest during my stay! We all sat and watched the live show on the computer, made fun of other countries, & cheered for our homeland of Sweden! Check out "Euphoria"!"
The four of us girls were in charge of supper, so what's better than grilling?! Kim & I were on flower & grill duty. In spite of all of the wind, we got the sucker started with an egg carton, matches & our breath! Marinated chicken, compliments of chefs Antonia & Viktoria, grilled onions, zucchini, and cheese made for a fantastic meal! The next day was much warmer so we played Kubb, a game where you throw wooden pegs at your opponents wooden blocks without hitting the King. The country house is a relaxing and beautiful get away from reality.
Antonia and I took a day to meander around Stockholm. We had delicious lunch at a place name "Blueberry" in English, visited a church nearby that was undergoing renovations and lit a candle for a loved one, then did some window shopping and filled up on a refreshing, all natural juice drink! While Viktoria was gone, we still got to skype with her!! :)
The train station near Antonia's house that we took to go into town or around the island.
Viktoria & I had a day to ourselves in Stockholm - we went to the castle's museum
There was clothing, centuries old, from king, queens, & knights. The carriage house was also located in the castle with original carriages for all the royalty!
I could say over and over again how beautiful the people, scenery, & homes were of Sweden. I was an experience that I hope I can someday share again with everyone I met there, as well as my dearest friends. I'll miss you until next time <3
