S: The Best Day of My Life!
FC: The Best Day of My Life!
This is a story about Elizabeth Jeane Huisken. Most of the time we call her Ellie. On December 22, 2011 she had the best day of her life. But first I am going to tell you what led up to the best day of her life.
11/9/08 | Ellie has always loved her babies! Pink Baby is her first love! | 10/23/09
Ellie was thrilled when Angel came into her life! One might think that this was the best day of Ellie's life, and although she was very happy, Ellie never mentioned that it was the best day of her life. | 10/23/09 | 11/22/08
Later Beth, who was a little older, came to live with Ellie!
Beth and Abe like to play together. Ellie takes care of them most of the time. | What excitement when Gabe asked Abe to live with him and Ellie! | 6/24/10
Ellie made a trip to shop for Beth and Abe on November 4, 2010.
Ellie loved the wagon and put it on her wish list.
On June 7, 2011 Ellie graduated from Kindergarten. It was an exciting day for everyone that loves Ellie.
There was even a party for Ellie and many friends and family were invited to celebrate.
After the party, Ellie opened presents. The last present was from Mommy and Daddy. Now that is how Elizabeth came to live with Ellie.
Ellie gave her mommy a big hug for inviting Elizabeth to live at their home.
Ellie showed Elizabeth where they would play. She told Elizabeth that sometimes she would sleep here, in the play room, and sometimes with her.
Elizabeth could not believe her eyes when she saw Ellie's room! It was the most beautiful room she had ever seen!
Ellie loved Elizabeth right away. One might think that June 7, 2011 was the very best day of Ellie's life, and although she was very happy, Ellie never mentioned that it was the best day of her life.
September 11, 2011 was a great day. Ellie, Beth, Elizabeth, Mama Fran, and Mommy went to the American Girl store. Ellie chose to spend her money on a new hairdo for Elizabeth!
Because Mommy also loves Elizabeth, they usually get something for her.
But Mommy loves Ellie even more, so she likes to do nice things for her. So guess what is in the big package! It is a wagon so Ellie can take her children for rides.
When Ellie got home, she gave Beth and Abe a ride in the new red wagon. They loved it and asked if they could ride a long time. But Ellie explained to them that they would have to take turns.
Angel was next to ride. Everyone clapped and smiled at Angel!
Then it was Elizabeth's turn. She loved it, but did confess to Ellie that she would really love to ride a horse!
Since Ellie is learning to play the piano, she is also teaching Elizabeth. Papa and Gramma Klein gave Elizabeth a flute. Just like Ellie, she loves music. Ellie is also teaching her children to play nicely with their friends, to be polite to others, and to say only good things. It was a very special day for Ellie. One might think that September 11, 2011 was the very best day of Ellie's life and although she was very happy, Ellie never mentioned that it was the very best day of her life. One day when Ellie was playing with Elizabeth, she shared a secret with her. She told her that she loved horses too, and had even ridden on one!
Ellie told how she had brushed the horse first. | Then with much excitement, she told about riding the horse!
One might think that December 10, 2011 was the very best day of Ellie's life, and although she was very happy, Ellie never mentioned that it was the very best day of her life.
Ellie, Elizabeth, Beth, Aunt Elise, Mama Fran, and Mommy went to the American Girl store on December 22, 2011. Aunt Elise was almost as excited as Ellie because she had never been there before. Ellie dressed up just like Beth in their Christmas outfits. Ellie's heart was racing to see all the children in their outfits and the accessories.
Everyone looked at the homes of the children that still live in the store.
Then came the special treat! Ellie and her children had eaten with Mommy in the dining room quite often, but this was the first time that Aunt Elise and Mama Fran were going to enjoy the dining experience. The host seated them and made sure the children were happy in their special seats. Everyone studied the menu and made their choices.
The server brought melt-in-your-mouth rolls that left a bit of frosting on Ellie's chin. Ellie chose orange juice to drink.
The fruit kabobs were tasty and pretty.
They entertained each other with conversation starters in a little box on the table.
Ellie thought about the questions carefully!
Soon their lunch was served. Everyone jabbered and ate. Aunt Elise asked Ellie what she would choose if she could buy absolutely anything. She also told Ellie that she was thinking of buying something for Mandy or Jenny, the babies she played with when she was Ellie's age. Ellie's advice was to choose whatever she liked the best.
Ellie made sure Elizabeth would look her best for shopping.
Everyone was all smiles and ready to shop!
After using the restroom and washing their hands, they headed out for some serious shopping.
Everyone listened to Ellie carefully as she considered the options. Mommy knew that Ellie has always wanted a horse for Elizabeth.
Well, Elizabeth liked it very much, but being the good little girl that she is, she did not nag. She learned that from Ellie. | Mommy and Ellie discussed it thoughtfully. They let Elizabeth sit on the horse to see if she liked it.
A conclusion was reached and the perfect horse was chosen and purchased. And now, Aunt Elise and Mama Fran knew what to buy. They knew that Ellie would need a saddle for the horse, and a hat for Elizabeth. Ellie did not notice what they were buying.
As they were leaving, Aunt Elise asked, "Ellie, does Elizabeth's horse come with a saddle?" Ellie replied, "I think so. And anyway, if it doesn't, it will still be fun!" Now Ellie is probably starting to think this may be the best day of her life, and although she was very happy, Ellie never mentioned that it was the best day of her life. Mama Fran suggested they sit down on the bench and check about the saddle. Ellie looked at the picture on the box and stated that it did not have a saddle. All the adults were very proud of the lesson Ellie was teaching Elizabeth--to accept things as they are and not to cry. And then what did Aunt Elise do? She took a box out of her bag, and showed it to Ellie. She peeked in and saw the saddle! What a surprise! Ellie realized she had been distracted and that Aunt Elise actually wanted to know what Ellie wanted. She was not going to buy something for Mandy or Jenny!
Then Mama Fran gave Ellie a box. Ellie's heart was pounding!
In the box was a hat for Elizabeth to wear when she rides her horse!
One might think that December 22, 2011 was the very best day of Ellie's life! She was extremely happy! And then Ellie exclaimed, "This is the best day of my life!" While the horse waited at the car, everyone shopped awhile. Then Mama Fran had one of the best days of her life. Ellie came up to her, gave her the biggest hug in all the days she has known and loved Ellie. And then Ellie said, "I love you!"
The minute Ellie got the new horse home, she began to make her even more beautiful. She decided to change her name from "Chestnut" to "Hazelnut."
Elizabeth is thrilled with her new horse. She loves to ride her.
Now the next morning, when Ellie and Mama Fran were together, Ellie said, "I am sorta sad that the best day of my life is over." Mama Fran assured her that there would be many more wonderful days in her life. From now on, Ellie will need to say, "This is one of the best days of my life." And although Ellie has not mentioned it, and she is very happy, she knows that because of love there will be many more best days in her life!
The End | With love for Ellie, praying for many more best days in your life! From Mama Fran
