49: Speech Given by Melissa Boese, Maid of Honor My name is Melissa and I am proud to introduce myself today as Amber’s maid of honor. I’d like to start by saying Congratulations to the bride and groom. Your wedding has turned out as beautiful as we drew it out to be. I met Amber only a year ago but we have gotten to know each other very quickly and have had so many fun times together already. I wish I could say that we’re old friends from childhood, college buddies, or even sisters, but I wasn’t fortunate enough to have Amber in my life until recently. As many of the relationships in Amber’s life began, we met online through a meetup group and then used our beloved Yorkies to set up a playdate at a dog park. We became friends quickly because we had so much in common, from our age, to relationship status, to our pets and careers. I knew before we met that I loved Amber’s sense of humor, intelligence, and her willingness to try new things. Whenever I want to go out and try something new, from water aerobics to kayaking to flying to the Dominican Republic and climbing 27 waterfalls, Amber’s my girl. I have had the honor of being present and being able to help at some very important events in their lives: when Amber and Colin purchased and moved into their first home and now their beautiful wedding day. Amber may have been Salutatorian of her HS and graduated Magna Cum Laude from her college, but to have a successful marriage, she really only needs to know the simple rules we learned back in Kindergarten: Share everything (including the bedcovers), play fair, don't hit, put things back where you found them, say please & thank you, clean up your own mess, say you're sorry when you hurt someone, wash your hands before you eat, and don’t forget to flush. Colin, never forget how lucky you are this day and never take what you have for granted. Although the same goes for Amber, don’t take his willingness to cook for you for granted, you’ll miss it if it ceases. I am proud to be your friend, and I’d do almost anything for you. The people closest to Amber describe her as very caring, selfless, sweet, genuinely kind, outgoing and beautiful. She’s brave and open-minded. She’s someone you can trust and count on. Her compassion for others is truly remarkable. It is an honor to know someone so caring and devoted to helping her students succeed. I tend to agree with all of the above which is why I am honored to be Amber’s friend. I propose a toast to the beautiful bride and groom: Today you married your best friend and your soul mate. May you always be the best of friends. Take each day and cherish your time together. Love one another and stand together. Take time to talk to one another. Put your love and your family first; your job and your hobbies second. So here's to love, laughter, and happily ever after. Cheers!
51: Speech Given by Jhonathan Taveras, Best Man Thank you for being here “fornication.” I mean, for this occasion. For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Jhonathan, the Best Man, what’s up? I was the one lucky enough to receive a letter in the mail asking me to be Colin’s Best Man. I quickly answered with a text saying, “YES.” Colin quickly answered, “What are you talking about?” Of course I had to explain the letter which he had no idea about. I later found out that he had mentioned something to Amber about asking me to be his Best Man, but Amber knew Colin would procrastinate. So she decided to just do it and send me the invitation. First off, I would like to start with a massive toast to the two single people that died today and unified in the holiest of legal contracts: Marriage. So let’s all raise our glasses. Let’s give cheers to their future, their fortune, and everyone having a blast tonight. For this speech I’m going to follow four simple rules: Stand up, Speak up, and very quickly Shut up. Number 4 goes with number 3. The speech should last as long as it takes the groom to make love... Goodnight everybody! In all seriousness, traditionally the Best Man’s main job is to write this speech and stand in front of everyone and say good things about the Groom, but Colin isn’t going to make a liar out of me! So, for help I turned to the same place Colin found his new wife--the Internet. When I first heard they found each other on the Internet, I was like, “Wow!” I never thought all those websites really worked. You know: Plenty of Fish, E-Harmony and Match.com. Then I found out which site they used. It’s a little less known by the normal public but widely known to nerds. They met in the majestic lands of World of Warcraft! I’ve known Colin for 11, 12 maybe 13 months now. I’m what some of you might consider a complete stranger. But to Colin I’m the Mexican brother he never wanted or asked for. Needless to say, I’m not Mexican, Colin! But he doesn’t seem to understand that, even after going with me and spending a week in my home country. I will say this, we did start drinking pretty early that week and I can’t remember him ever been sober while we were there. But I digress; in this past year I have come to see Colin as my own brother. He’s always been there when I’ve needed him and doesn’t expect much in return. From just hanging out in one of our houses to going to dinner on the weekends, Colin has always been great company. Colin is man among men. If I would have met Colin years ago I wouldn’t be here, mostly because just a few years ago Colin was a nerd. True story. But the gods waited for the perfect time when we could meet and be what we are today. A friendship that is still in the beginning of blossoming and has a lifetime to grow. If I ever need someone to help me or to sit back and watch me work, I know I can count on Colin! Today I stood back and watched this beautiful couple become one. I had always felt they were, but now that piece of paper says it is so. If my law findings mean anything in a court of law, which they don’t, I would say possession is nine-tenths of the law. Colin you now possess your new wife, so nine-tenths of her belong to you. The other one-tenth is here stay. I would just like to say to Colin: You’re a lucky groom; you’re marrying Amber who is beautiful, smart, warm, loving and caring. She deserves a good husband. Thank goodness you’re marrying her before she found one! To Love, to laughter, and to a happily ever after!

66: Mini Honeymoon Marathon Key May 29-31, 2010
67: Honeymoon Puerto Morelos, Mexico Now Sapphire Riviera All-Inclusive Resort June 18-27, 2011 We had such an amazing time, but unfortunately we didn't take many pictures. Each morning we went to the breakfast buffet. During the day, we mostly stayed at the pool and swim-up bar and ate at the snack grill. We played Water Volleyball and Bingo a lot. Our evenings consisted of a fabulous three-course dinner each nght followed by an entertaining live show in the theater. After that, we usually hung out at the Lobby Bar and then to the Fun Pub for late night karaoke and dancing. We went on one combination excursion to Tulum Mayan Ruins and Xel-Ha Water Park. We look forward to visiting again!
