1: Our love story

2: P | How we met sometime in 2005 | Her story: I met Steve through my cousin, Bridget. The night we met Steve was sitting on the tailgate playing his guitar. It was late and I only listened to a song or two and made my way home. In a small town with mutual friends we found ourselves at a lot of the same places. Steve is one of those people who you feel you've known for years even though you've only been around him a handful of times, I guess it's his old southern charm. Our friendship was just beginning when I moved. We ran into each other a few times over the next several years when I was in town. His story: We first met in the Jimmy's too parking lot. I was sitting on the tailgate of my truck playing guitar and cutting up with some friends. Bridget introduced us. There wasn't anything more than a simple hello that night. That summer we found ourselves with a group of friends at Marion's ferry at 3am, always looking for something to do after hours. These types of encounters became the norm and we became friends. New Year's '06 I had had PLENTY to drink and my courage was built up. I snatched her up to dance in the mud. I said "we should do this again sometime on a dance floor" she said "I'm moving to Tyler tomorrow." All these months and I just needed to snatch her up, now she was moving.

8: Falling in | Her story: | One night I was out with a group of friends and Steve was there too. I said to Sarah, "I need a good 'ol country boy in my life." Before she could respond with "What's wrong with Steve?" The thought had already entered my mind. (he standing right behind me) The suddenness confused me, yet I wondered why I hadn't seen him like this before. He's not like all the other guys, he was hands down one of the best guys I'd ever met. A few days later I got a random text from him and it absolutely made my day, He was at work in North Dakota for 2 weeks, my heart sunk at the though of waiting 2 weeks to be around him again to get a better feel of these new emotions, A few days later another text and another smile. We made plans for our first date, Sept. 4th 2010. I wasn't nervous about him, I knew him. I was terrified that for the first time I was going on a date knowing that as long as the romance was there he would be the one. He was everything I was looking for. I knew I was falling in love within the first week. | His story: Several years had went by and she was living back in town. Out one night in a group of mutual friends I snagged her up and we danced again. She said, "The last time we did this we were in the mud." At that moment there was a spark. We started talking and texting and things evolved into our first date. The date was a disaster. I was so nervous I couldn't finish complete thoughts. We stayed in constant contact and hung out whenever we could, things got serious quick. If I said it was all roses and sunshine, it'd be a lie. I almost lost her twice because I was scared to death that real life love was looking me dead in the eye. She never let go and showed me a part of her I had never seen. This tiny, quiet, soft spoken woman was going to fight tooth and nail because she loved me. That's the woman I knew I had to have forever.

13: I have found the one whom my soul loves

14: Getting Engaged | Her story: There was no question that the two of us would get married. We had talked about our future and dreams on many occasions. I was getting pretty antsy and trying hard not to pressure him. I knew it was coming when I told him I wanted a baby just to see his eyes get wide, and he said, "me too." I kept reminding myself to enjoy the waiting. It's only a fleeting moment in life you are waiting on your soul mate to ask you to be his forever. I knew the moment, when it finally came, would in a blink of an eye be just a precious memory. I really was avoiding looking at the arrow in the tree. I had never seen him take such a bad shot. When I saw it I said, "are you serious?" I don't know why I asked that, I guess it was just a reaction when you realize the moment is happening right in front of your eyes. I let all my friends know and tried to get everyone to come celebrate with us. You can't really plan something last minute once all your friends have children. EVERYONE had something going on or was home with kids. So the two of us go to meet a few of his friends. One at a time they all started showing up, even my best friend out of town who was supposed to be at work. They all knew before I did. | His story: I had decided that we were made for each other. I knew that I needed this woman in my life forever. I looked high and low and found the ring. I had only had it in my possession for a few days and ran my plans of proposing where we went on our fist date (Ralph and Kacoo's) by Gena. She said, "you know she knows you are going to propose over dinner, right?" I was floored, I had kept such a good secret. New plans where in the making. I carved a heart that read "Will you marry me?" in the cedar tree that sits behind our deer target. She came home from work and we shot our bows like we did everyday. I put my first 3 arrows in a tight group in the target, but arrow 4 was not going to hit the target. I was shaking so bad I didn't think I was going to be able to pull my bow back. once I did, I couldn't hold steady. BUCK FEVER AIN'T GOT NOTHING ON WHAT I WAS FEELING! I aimed where the heart should be and let one fly. I almost missed the tree! I was on my knee like I was going to pull the arrows out of the target, and I couldn't speak. She hadn't noticed the heart. I croaked out, "look where I hit." She said, "yeah, I know" still not looking. I said, " LOOK AT IT" I pulled the ring out of my pocket and as she looked I slipped it on her finger. She started smiling and just stared at me. I knew what the answer was, but I needed to hear it. I said, "so, will you?" she said, "of course I will. | 12.14.2012
