3rd Annual "Little Kids Trip" | Palmyra, NY, Niagara Falls & Toronto, Canada | 7.31-8.6.2011
Hillary and Chase attended EFY in Palmyra, New York for one week. Since it was an 8 hour drive from our home, each way, we decided that we would make this our annual "Little Kids Trip," for 2011. We knew nothing would beat last year's Disney trip, but we felt like this would be more spiritually uplifting and more edifying- that it was. The minute I walked into the Smith Family Cabin, felt the spirit burn strongly within me, confirming the sacredness of the events that occurred at these very spots. This book shows the vacation we experienced with Elizabeth, 7, and Noah, 10. Hillary and Chase have a separate book detailing their experiences.
We love spending time with these little pups. The car ride was long but just being in the open fields were a lot of fun. Palmyra is so sacred and so beautiful. It was a wonderful experience just bing able to focus on the two younger kids as the older kids were enjoying EFY. We went to each of the sites on the ground and Brian and I even attended the Palmyra Temple together. You always feel the spirit so strong when you are in these sacred spaces.

Nothing is more peaceful than to be among family members who love each other. Nothing is sweeter than to enjoy those family unions for now and forever.

If | If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. James 1:5
THERE IS ONLY ONE HAPPINESS IN LIFE, TO LOVE AND BE LOVED. | Palmyra has a different kind of beauty- a spiritual beauty. Even the weeds and the wildflowers testify of Jesus Christ
Ice Cream, Temple Visit, Mini Golf and long Walks- all part of our favorite things!
Roasting Marshmallows at The Residence Inn
We sort of laughed a little because the younger kids thought the Residence Inn we stayed in was a king's palace. It had so much space and they totally loved the simple thing of roasting marshmallows and swimming. They aren't too hard to please. There was a grocery store next door named TOPS that they begged daily for us take them there. It had a crane machine that they could easily win prizes from. To this day, they still think TOPS was one of the highlights of the trips.
 NIAGRA FALLS, CANADA
"The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing, One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day Never lose a holy curiosity." Albert Enistein
 Niagara Falls, Canada
The Maid of the Mist boat ride was one of our favorite events all week long. The kids got a real kick out of the mist coming off of the falls. The day was a tad bit rainy but still proved to be a winner. About 8 years ago, we visited Niagra on the American side and thought it was so-so. This time, we made our way to Canada and it was way worth it crossing the border. The Canadian side was fulll of flowers, and life. I was depressed that we Americans lets so many tourism dollars cross over. I am always amazed at God's creations.
A day at Canada Wonderland was about all we could handle- 60 minute lines and the sun did us in.
BELIEVE IN HAPPILY EVER AFTER, AND IT WILL COME TRUE
The Whitmere Farm where The Church of Jesus Chirst of Latter-Day Saints was organized.
