FC: David De La Ree

Dave Matthews Band was formed in 1991 along with Dave Matthews, Boyd Tinsley, Steffan Lessard, Leroi Moore, Carter Beauford. They didnt hit the mainstream until around 1997-1999. Their style is a style of their own, they like to jam and have fun all the time. They would probably be categorized under alternative rock. | Standing here The old man said to me, "Long before these crowded streets Here stood my dreaming tree." Below it he would sit For hours at a time Now progress takes away What forever took to find And now he's falling hard He feels the falling dark How he longs to be Beneath his dreaming tree Conquered fear to climb A moment froze in time When the girl who first he kissed Promised him she'd be his Remembered mother's words There beneath the tree "No matter what the world You'll always be my baby." "Mommy come quick, The dreaming tree has died." The air is growing thick A fear he cannot hide The dreaming tree has died

Shel Silverstein is a childrens poet, and hes very good at what he does. He has many books, with lots of poems, and i enjoy reading them, because lots of them are funny. Shel Silverstein also has books like the Giving Tree, and books that will make you think about the things you have, and not to take things for granted all the time. | For me, the book The Giving tree, was one of my favorite books ever.

Dave Matthews and Shel Silverstein are alike in that they both seem goofy, and that they can both put meaning into something that could be funny, or doesnt seem like it could be deep. But even when Dave is dancing and having fun, his songs have deeper meanings, and when Shel Silverstein is writing about a boy cutting down a tree, that also has a deeper meaning.

Cycling Free Verse Nothing but rubber on the street and the clips under my toes I hold on to the handlebars in the heat and i ride on to the top When i reach the very top I feel the great success But after i have felt it at the top I ride down the rest Cycling Haiku When i ride my bike No one else is around me Im the only one

Ducks When i see you at the pond Of you i am oh so fond So majestic in the air and also in the water, dang! no fair! Death When i die, will it be cold? When i die, i hope im old I hope ive done what i need to do i hope ive lived life to the fullest
