 True Love

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails." As a couple. and as individuals, you both embody this message. Through the years, through your example, your words and deeds, you have both taught us what it is to truly love. Anyone who has ever met the two of you could never doubt that you know what it is to truly love with all your heart and soul and to be loved just as deeply in return.

May 30th, 1971 was a celebration that recognized the coming together of two souls who were about to begin on a life journey together. The past 40years have been exactly that, through the happiness and the tears you two have weathered the tempest that is life with as much love and devotion to one another as you did when | you said "I do", if not more in love with each other now than then. The two of you have seen your family grow with the births of your own children, nieces, nephews and grandchildren, who all look at the two of you as role models on how to love freely and unconditionally.

Dear Mom & Dad, I just wanted to take a moment to wish you both a Happy Anniversary and to let you both know just how much I love both of you. I also wanted to take a moment to thank you for everything that you have given to the three of us over the years. The memories of growing up were full of happiness and love because of the two of you. While I had friends who were in the middle of bitter custody squabbles, their loyalties torn between their parents, we never had to endure anything even close. I don’t think I can recall a time that I ever questioned whether the two of you would be together, or saw the two of you really angry at one another and for that I thank you. The two of you were always the rock solid foundation of our family and we never once questioned the love you had for each other and for us. Mom and Dad you taught the three of us that home was more than just bricks and mortar, it was a sanctuary away from the trials and tribulations of the outside world. You managed to create a place where even though we knew we had done something wrong, we also knew that we were always loved. Now that we are grown ups we can appreciate that more than ever now as we try and raise our own children, hoping that we are able to be the same shining example for them that you two were to us. After 40 years, you two still make it seem so easy and make it look effortless but now that I’m older I know that love isn’t the fairy tale that you read about in books, it is more than just an emotion it truly is something that you do. When I watch mom put together dad’s lunches to make sure he’ll have something healthy for lunch. Or when I watch dad sit and wait in the parking lot for mom at Sam’s Town so she won’t be out late alone. And every other little thing the two of you do to show just how deeply you two care about each other’s happiness, comfort and well being just proves just how special and timeless the bond you two share is. And I know how fortunate I was that God saw fit to give me the two of you as parents, I couldn’t think of anyone else I would rather call mom and dad. I love you both. Happy Anniversary. Love, Mary

Happy Anniversary | Dear Grandma and Grandpa Today is your 40th anniversary. I would like to wish that this day be special for everyone, as much as it is to you. There is so much you two have taught me over the years. Most of it, is that love is real and you two share it, and share it well with everyone around you, let alone each other. Coming into your home is always a great experience, because you make it feel like another home. The love you two share, has caught the eye of envious people searching for the happiness you two have found in each other, and your children. It also spreads hope for those who have lost their faith in people, that true happiness is attainable, your 40plus years of marriage being a testament to that. May you live happy lives, and have a happy anniversary. Your Grandson, John

Dear Grandma and Grandpa, I can’t believe it has been 40 years since you 2 tied the knot, congratulations. I’m sure there were bumps in the road but you two pulled through because you knew somewhere deep inside both of you that you would pull through together. I would also like to hear every embarrassing story about my brother that you have. What is your secret to go 40 years? The average married couple only lasts 2 years, so what is your secret? My dad’s parents’ was: “don’t go to sleep angry at each other. Make up right before you go to sleep.” Is that your secret to? Oh yeah, grandma, how do you make your red rice? You should pass that dish on to me and I could start a traditional family meal like you did with all the dishes you came up with over the years. Oh yeah, and grandpa, how many renovations have you made to the house that you used to live in for so many years? Like that chair I used to sit in as we ate popcorn, drank soda, and watched the Steelers kick the Brown’s butts all the time. Well, Happy Anniversary, Love, Gregory

Dear Mom and Dad, I can not put into words how much I love and respect the both of you. You have given me so much to be thankful for and have given me great lessons throughout my life. The three of us are so lucky to have you as parents. The both of you have given us stability and unconditional love throughout our lives. Something I strive to pass down to my daughter. I know as a child and as an adult I haven’t always been perfect or lived my life exactly the way you had hoped for me, but you have never passed judgment on me or ever made me feel any less loved. You also have enough respect for me to allow me to lead my own life and still welcome me with open arms no matter what happens. Mom: You are what a woman should be, compassionate and patient yet you possess great strength. You are the pillar and matriarch of our entire family. You have taught me the importance of family and how no matter what; we need to take care of each other despite our differences. You are beautiful inside and out and I love you more than words can express. I hope I have made you proud throughout the years and I hope I can continue to make you proud. Dad: You are and always will be my hero and best friend. I don’t know what I would do on Football Sundays without you (LOL). You are truly one of a kind. You have always taught me the true path to happiness is to be happy with what God has put in front of you. I pass that wisdom on to others and with each day that passes I continue to learn that lesson. It is much easier to find happiness when you are satisfied with yourself and what you have. I have never met another person that possesses your genuinely kind heart and I know I never will. I love you. The two of you are the example on how a married couple should be. I tell everyone the reason that your marriage has been so strong for the past 40 years is that Dad spoils Mom and Mom spoils Dad right back. So on your very special day, Happy 40th Anniversary Mom and Dad! And blessings to you for another 40! With all My Love, Cristina

Dear grandma and grandpa, I love you very much. Happy 40th anniversary. This is my prayer that was on the huge big screen at school in the Chapel. Dear Heavenly Father, My prayer today is for my Grandma and Grandpa. Their 40TH anniversary is coming up. I just wanted to tell them I love them and happy 40th Anniversary. Amen I love you! Your Granddaughter, Gabrielle
