FC: The Engagement of Jerrod Schlauch & Dana McGill

It all began at the small college of Mount Union, where two strangers met through friends . Different as they were, a country boy and a city girl . They took a chance . . .

"We drive until the city lights dissolve into a country sky, just me and you..."

On October 30, 2009, Dana asked Jerrod to stand by her side as more than a friend.

 The Proposal | October 15 , 2011 1842 Township Road 80 Millersburg , Ohio

As her shift came to an end, Dana signed out at work, got into her car and drove to Jerrod's family home. The day had come to a close and the crystal clear night sky glistened with stars. Living at the end of a dirt road on the edge of the woods, the only light to see with came from the garage. Jerrod was waiting on the doorsteps. He said he found her car keys that she had lost over the summer in the backyard. As they walked to the backyard, he took her hand. Using a flashlight, she began searching the ground for the keys. Behind her, Jerrod bent down on one knee. When she turned around she asked what he was doing. It was then that she noticed the flicker of light coming from behind him. In the pitch-black background, the words, "Will you marry me?" glowed brightly from four pumpkins. Jerrod took Dana's hand, and said the words he practiced all night. He took out a small ring box and opened it. Out of pure shock, Dana playfully pushed him and said, "Definitely!"
