3: I felt like I’d already met Nessa before we'd properly met because loads of people in church kept telling me about her and how perfect she would be for me. One of them told me that she had just joined worship team, so I decided that the best way to meet her just by herself was to wait outside the station before rehearsal until she turned up. Just when I was giving up that she wouldn't arrive she walked out and I awkwardly said hello, trying to act casual like it was a chance meeting. The conversation was great, and the rest is history. | Love | A T F I R S T S I G H T | T R I S T A N ' S S T O R Y | V A N E S S A ' S S T O R Y | I'd just joined the worship team and was on my way to my second rehearsal with the team. I came out of the station and spotted him straight away. He was tall with blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes. He was wearing a tailored grey suit and looked very dashing. My heart began to beat like crazy as he came up to talk to me! Like a true gentleman, he walked me to rehearsal and we had a great chat along the way. With the benefit of serving on team together I had a great excuse to get to know him more and over the next few months I began to see that not only was he incredibly attractive on the outside he had an even more beautiful spirit and heart for God. He was the best man I had ever known and I was well and truly smitten!
4: T R I S T A N ' S S T O R Y I really wanted to surprise Nessa with our engagement and I think I did. She still had her grandmothers ring (which is the one she thought would be her engagement ring) on her dressing table that night so had no idea that I’d gone out and bought her a ring the weekend before and secretly asked mum and dad Gibbes for her hand in marriage! In keeping with my theme of surprise I told her I was taking her to dinner that night and pretended to be completely surprised when it turned out to be a stunning restaurant! We had an absolutely lovely dinner and walked back to my flat down along the Thames the way we did on our first date. Finally the moment came, the carefully prepared speech forgotten, I tried to sound elegant and confused her. So I asked simply; “Will you marry me?”, and I’ve kept my love simple ever since. | T H E | Proposal | V A N E S S A ' S S T O R Y Tris and I had just had a lovely dinner out in Putney. We were walking back to his flat when he spontaneously asked if I would like to walk down by the river Thames. The tide was out and it was such a beautiful night so we did. I was in the middle of thinking what a perfect evening it had been and how similar it was to our first date, when he stopped and took a deep breath. I noticed he looked quite nervous and only then did all of the pieces begin to click together. He eventually stuttered out “What would you say if I asked you to marry me?”... I was quite confused at his question and was silent for what felt like thirty seconds as I tried to figure out if he was asking me or not! Finally I responded by saying... “Well, if you asked me, I would say yes...” to which he took a big sigh of relief and said “Good, because I have a ring”. He then reached into his pocket and produced a beautiful sapphire ring. Thinking when the time would come, that he would propose with Grandmothers ring (which I knew was at home) I was totally taken aback. I think it was only then that it all became real and I realized the man of my dreams was actually asking me to marry him!!! And of course I said a resounding yes!!!

14: "Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. It's your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it." | Colossians 3:12-17 | THE MESSAGE

38: He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you make the Most High your dwelling-- even the LORD, who is my refuge-- then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. "Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."
