Guestbook of Julie and Darrell Taylor July 23rd 2011

 ~ Favorite Memories ~

~ Our Story ~ | It started more than 20 years ago on a balmy Super Bowl Sunday in South Georgia....a fly boy, Darrell, trying to spread his wings in the Air Force and a young, country girl, Julie, putting herself through college. | "For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven" Ecclesiastes 3:1-22 This is your time Julie and Darrell. We are so Happy for you! God Bless You Both Always!

I was unseasonably planting marigolds in a small plot of sandy dirt outside my drab brown apartment trying to make the place my own when the Super Bowl party next door spilled from inside to out as gatherings often do.

"If I had a flower for every time I thought of you, I could walk in my garden forever." ~Alfred Lord Tennyson | What started as casual conversation over a chilled beverage quickly turned into a relationship that would unknowingly shape our adult lives. | Darrell, Julie & Shay Bo

Young Love... Ain't it Precious | "Sometimes your nearness takes my breath away; and all the things I want to say can find no voice. Then, in silence, I can only hope my eyes will speak my heart." - -Robert Sexton | We would steal a look anywhere.

 Advice for the Newlyweds

The day Darrell left for Korea | Within too short of a time, duty called in the form of a tour to Korea. Time and distance were not our friends and even though we reunited at the end of the tour and his enlistment, we ultimately decided to travel different roads and had no contact for many years.

 ~ Words of Wisdom ~

How do you know the Bride & Groom?

"Listen! Encourage. Say something. Do something. Be yourself. Love" ~Rev. Dale Turner | We laughed a lot... | ...and kissed a lot! | GO DAWGS 1992

Jeep!! | Darrell the chimney sweep dude

~ Your special wishes for us ~ | I get the best feeling in the world when you say hi or even smile at me because I know, even if its just for a second, that I've crossed your mind.

Find a guy who calls you beautiful instead of hot, who will lie under the stars and listen to your heartbeat, or will stay awake just to watch you sleep... wait for the boy who kisses your forehead, who wants to show you off to the world when you are in sweats, who holds your hand in front of his friends, who thinks you' re just as pretty without makeup on. One who is constantly reminding you of how much he cares and how lucky he is to have YOU... The one who turns to his friends and says, thats her... | I Love You! | Darrell visited while I was working in Texas. We had the most fun weekend that included a spontaneous photo shoot at Glamour Shots in the Galleria Mall, Houston, Texas

 ~ Favorite Memories ~

 Advice for the Newlyweds

Everlasting Love... | Julie found a love for water... | ...and Darrell for hunting

And we both found a love for 2 special little girlz!! | Darrell’s sister, Kay Lynn, and I crossed paths and picked up right where we left off. Kay Lynn continually and vehemently told me over and over that Darrell was single and was certain he’d be elated to know the same about me. I resisted giving permission to pass along my number for weeks but finally caved. I remembered he always was such a fun guy...

"You're nothing short of my everything." ~Ralph Block | Georgia

"The beauty of your love has filled my heart with wonders beyond imagination and it makes life worth a living" ~Chatman

...and what would it hurt for two old friends to have a chat about where life had taken us. After several phone calls that lasted for hours on end, on April 7, 2010, Darrell and I decided to meet on middle ground between our two residences at a quaint, little restaurant in my hometown with painted murals on rustic, red brick walls for a friendly reunion dinner. | Madi

The minute I felt his warm hug and his baby blues met my sweet tea brown, I knew there was something more than a mere friendship about to be rekindled. Out of nowhere, the waitress questioned if we were married....we giggled, spilling to her that this was our first meeting in over 15 years. She quickly offered her opinion by adamantly proclaiming that if we weren’t married, we definitely should be, which only made us giggle more. I wasn’t alone in my feelings, for each of our adolescent daughters and even the Australian Shepard sensed quickly that we were like peanut butter and jelly. Relationships grew between us all very quickly, which only added to the confirmation that things were progressing just as they were meant to... | Madi & Georgia's First Meeting | Easter 2011 | REUNITED

 ~ Words of Wisdom ~

How do you know the Bride & Groom?

On December 31, 2010, with the clever justification that deer hunting was impossible since our two little girls were sleeping soundly with vivid dreams of becoming a family, Darrell suggested we take in and experience the last sunrise of 2010. We trekked out behind his house and across the harvested peanut field dotted with hay bales with a steaming cup of coffee and the Aussie trailing behind. Gazing across the rolling fields to the tree line far away, awaiting the beckoning sunrise, lent the perfect time to share with Darrell that I had accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior and had arranged to be baptized in the next couple of weeks. With the bright, orange, glowing ball of fire peeking over the trees embarking on a brand new day, I turned to meet his eyes.

"The best thing about me is you." ~Shannon Crown | Flooded with emotion over the combination of my blissful news, the impeccable timing of my delivery and the impending agenda of his own, I found him not on one knee, but on two. Looking up at me, he held out his hand and proclaimed that if one ever gets a second chance, grab it and never let go. And before God, in His glorious morning sun, Darrell requested my hand in marriage in the most tender, sincere and heartfelt manner. My coffee cup tumbled to the dirt as I dropped to my knees as well, with the Aussie overjoyed to be a part. Overcome with sentiment, Darrell forgot to open the ring box that held the symbol that shall link us as one for the rest of our time on Earth, and I forgot to say yes!!! We held each other on our knees while the sun rose rapidly over the trees reminding us both of how quickly life can pass. He finally looked at me and asked for my answer....I asked what was in the box!?! | Contentment is not the fulfillment of what you want, but the realization of how much you already have

Time and distance are still not our friends, and that’s why we shall become husband and wife on July 23, 2011 at that quaint little restaurant with the rustic, red brick walls where it all began....again.

 Advice for the Newlyweds

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails" Corinthians 13:4-8 (NIV)
