BC: There's a time a for joy A time for tears A time we'll treasure through the years We'll remember always Graduation day At the senior prom We danced until three And there you gave your heart to me We'll remember always Graduation day Take it away Take five Though we leave in sorrow All the joys we've known We can face tomorrow Knowing we'll never walk alone When the ivy walks Are far behind No matter where our paths may wind We'll remember always Graduation day -Beach Boys

1: Dear Graduates of the Class of 2013, Congratulations! We are proud of your accomplishment! You have just completed one of the great milestones in your life. My last request of you will be to please take the time to reflect on your accomplishment one day this summer, the years from Kindergarten to High School graduation. Really think about it, what and who mattered, what it took, the people, the places? Try to find the really important things that mattered to you. Write them down, put it in an envelope and put it somewhere where you can find it in twenty years; because life as you know it is about to change, and in fact, it already has due to your accomplishment. When you read what you have written in twenty years, what will be different? Will the things that mattered to you as a child be different from the things that will matter to you as an adult? Some of you will be close to forty years old? Some of you will be parents? Some of you will be in places far away and some of you will be unsure of your direction in life? Open the letter and read what mattered to you most from when you entered school to the twelfth grade. I hope it will be honest, emotional, and I hope it will tell you who you really are deep down inside. There is honesty in youth and I hope you were honest when you wrote down your thoughts in the summer of 2013. Because what you read will tell you who you really are! Some of you will still be that person - only wiser! Some will need a little tweaking to get back to the real you! Easily done with the right attitude and some basic discipline. However, many of you may need to really find who you were and correct the path that you are currently on. It is to you that I wish well in this process. See who you were and what mattered to you as a child - it's the real you. Embrace it, no matter how difficult, because it's you! And for all of you as you enter the second half of your years, may they be as the person that is the real you, the person that you wrote about those many years ago. Let the people in your life see who you really are. Let your children enjoy the real you. Do it! Your life will be the richer and that is what I wish for you as you graduate from MST. I could think of no greater gift and I can think of no greater accomplishment. It has been a pleasure for me to be a part of MST during your Junior & Senior year. I wish you health, success, and the ability to “know thyself” in the years to come. Sincerely, Timothy M. McCarron
