FC: Blitzkrieg on Poland By: Alyssa Ewell
1: Dear Diary, | I can't possibly find the words to describe the panic that existed among these running people. The screams and the cries of the children, the women, the terrible panic that seized the population. And the planes coming down on you. It was a miracle that we made it through that bridge, but we did. And for the first time in my life I felt the smell of burning domiciles. The smell won't seem to go away. Sincerely, Zofiia Kowlaski

9: Dear Diary, I was sitting on my balcony today, reading a book. And all of sudden, I heard a thud, and I saw planes circling above the city. I 'm so afraid about making it out alive... I'm so afraid for my family and friends. I found out early my friend, John, who's in the army, died today. I can't help but to think how far this war will go. Who will be next? I keep thinking about my beloved husband who is at war. May God watch over him and the rest over us. Sincerely, Zofia Kolawski

12: Dear Diary, After a year of suffering, war is finally over in Poland. So many peoples lives have been lost. And although Poland has lost to Hitler, the Nazis are still moving on elsewhere. I hope they are stopped. Yes, the war lasted for a year, but that's a year too long. Who is to say how long war will last in other European countries? I'm still scared by what has happened. My home town is ruined and lives have been ruined. I am just thankful my husband, my children, friends, and family has made it out alive... But I still haven't forgotten you John.. Rest In Peace. Sincerely, Zofia Kolawski
