1: Born on December 14th, 1546 in Knutstorp,Skane, Denmark(now Svalov, Sweden) and died on October 24th 1601 and died supposedly from Mercury poisoning. | Birth and Death | Profession/Occupation wealthy Danish astronomer and mathematician | Nationality Danish
2: Tycho Brahe's major contributions to science. | Tycho Brahe's major contributions are his precise observations that had yet been made by devision the best instruments available before the invention of the telescope. He also made observations about a supernova. What also was amazing about Tycho Brahe is he did not have or nobody invented the telescope yet, so the only things he used to study the universe and space was a compass and a sextant. | A sextant
3: Some other interesting facts about Tycho Brahe | While Tycho was studying at the University of Rostock in Germany, on December 29th, 1566 he lost the bridge of his nose in a sword duel against Manderup Parsberg. How this all started was Tycho and Parsberg argued with each other the legitimacy of a mathematic formula which since both had no resources to prove that their theory was better, it then led to a duel. Also Tycho's observations of planetary motion, particularly of Mars, provided the crucial data for later astronomers to construct our present model of our solar system.
4: Why Tycho Brahe is considered a "Giant" whose shoulders we stand on today? | Why I think that Tycho Brahe is considered a "Giant" is because of his many observations about space objects he has seen in space and helped us make a more descriptive model of the solar system that he created. He also created and invented many instruments that we use today to identify and understand the universe.
