2: Dear Benjamin (a.k.a. "Wiggles"), We were surprised to realize that after two and a half short months of marriage, you were here and growing inside of me. You treated me pretty well. I think Dad got pretty sick of me falling asleep on him anywhere and everywhere we were for the first 3 months of your pregnancy. Seems like it was all I did for those first months. November rolled around and we were very excited to find out that Uncle Brad and Auntie Jenn were expecting Carson in June 2010 - what a great surprise! A cousin for you to grow up with. Then Christmas 2009 rolled around I was almost feeling like a normal person again, except for one 'little' change - the bump you had created. It was so cute and I just adored you. We also needed to finally share your news with everyone in the family and all our friends. Everyone was overjoyed and couldn't wait to meet you. The following few months of your pregnancy went great. I felt your first flutters at 14 weeks, your first flip-flops at 16 weeks. Your first kick shortly after. You were growing like a weed and on February 24, 2010 we were introduced to you via ultrasound (18 weeks). You were squirming so much, the Ultrasounds Tech could barely get a good photo! Here are a few (to the left). Doctor Shone told us at our next visit that you may arrive a bit earlier. Your due date was changed from July 22 to July 11! I was excited.

4: Then we waited... | 7 | 8 | 9 | 10 | 11 | 12
5: We were enjoying watching you grow, feeling your kicks, watching your movements. I was trying to convince Dad to find out if you were a girl or a boy for weeks and weeks and weeks. For some reason I needed to know. Well finally at about 26 weeks Dad agreed and I asked Dr. Shone at our next doctors visit. He showed me on the ultrasound machine, and right there and then there was no doubt in my mind that you were my little baby boy. I was right all along :) Always had a feeling you'd be a boy. The second trimester flew by and before I knew it I was 7 months pregnant. Where did the time go? We started getting things together and looking for used baby items and clothing. We were getting all ready for you little mister. I was still working full time, which is a blessing. I had little to no complications with your pregnancy. I gained a lot of weight...nearly 60 pounds! Other than that I was feeling great. Dad and I were getting ready for your arrival and went to our prenatal birthing classes. We also decided to prepare for a HypnoBirth with you and found an instructor in Langley to teach us all about it. I loved being in hypnosis. It was so relaxing. Your father was convinced that I was going to have this amazing 3 hour labour and be done with it. I wasn't so convinced. I was relaxed and ready for whatever happened - short, long, easy or hard. Whatever needed to be done. I finished work on June 14, 2010. I was so ready to be done. I was commuting from Abbotsford into downtown Vancouver on the West Coast Express every day. Then we waited. Waited. Waited some more. We went golfing on the long weekend. We walked and walked. Your due date came and went. So did the days that followed. And we waited some more. You sure were comfortable in there.

9: Our First Moments together as a family.
10: "Twinkle twinkle little star; do you know how loved you are?"
11: Dr. Kenyon delivered you (after I enjoyed an Ambulance Ride to the Hospital). We weren't even at the hospital for 10 minutes before Dr. Kenyon said I could push. Then you appeared, and Daddy had to run to the car to get the camera, so we could capture these precious moments. | Your First Bath

26: Camping with a 3 week old was really interesting. Good thing you loved to sleep wherever and on whomever. We arrived in a smoky atmosphere and to a camp fire ban, but that did not stop us from having an awesome time with the Flokstra Family.
27: You passed your snuggles around and slept a lot on me, as I carried you everywhere. Our Tent and Uncle Andrew & Auntie Teresa`s Van lasted through 2 huge thunderstorms that week - one even brought hail! We also saw rainbows!
28: I was not very happy when you broke out in a very bad diaper rash from Disposable Diapers and Disposable wipes, but Auntie Teresa saved the day with her special cream. Daddy and I learned what it was like to clean poop off of what seemed like every inch of your back that week too. I could not wait to get home and put a cloth diaper back on you.

33: The End of Camping for 2010 | One of the coldest nights, it was only 7 degrees! But we managed to keep a little bit warm (hence the socks on your hands). We didn't get to have a campfire, but as soon as we left the ban on the campfires was lifted. Oh well - have to save that for next year hopefully. As we all packed up and were saying our goodbyes, there were a lot of comments about doing this again next year! Hopefully that's the case :) Until next time... :)
