FC: Bump To

Our journey through the pregnancy of little baby Whitney. Our beautiful, sweet perfect little girl. We will always cherish our first 9 months together. | love, Mommy &Daddy

It was a year in the making...after multiple doctors appointments, lab tests, hormones, and shots, on the morning of June 26th 2011 we drove out to Glendale to our fertility doctor for our first IUI.It was a fairly quick and painless procedure but one that could change the rest of our lives. Having a baby was all we could think about but with low success rates we knew that it might not happen the first time.We went home as optimistic as we could and waited. Two weeks later on July 8th I was at work when I called my doctor to find out the results of my blood test. They told me that it was positive, I couldn't believe what I heard! I cried so hard,it was one of the happiest moments of my life! I called your daddy and everyone else, they was so excited!!!We were going to finally have a baby!!!

Watching you grow for 9 months... We thought it would be fun to take a photo each month to document the growth of the baby. It was so fun to see how much my belly grew month to month. It's such a miracle to see the changes that our bodies go through while a little life is growing inside.

Oh the joy of being pregnant and the funny things I crave... First was red meat which I never eat, then came the omelettes every morning, and sweet potato fries with fat free ranch. Thankfully most of the things I liked were healthy...until the sugar cravings came toward the end and I couldn't get enough chocolate, especially See's candy!!!!

July 26th 2011 is a day we will remember forever. We had our first appointment to see an ultrasound. Your dad took the day off of work to go with me to the doctors; he wouldn't miss this for the world. He went to almost every appointment we had! You were only 6 weeks and 4days old and the size of a chocolate sprinkle. It was the most surreal moment to see a little embryo forming. We both cried still in disbelief that we were pregnant, and to see it with our own eyes was something we'll never forget! We couldn't wait for all the ultrasounds to come so we could watch you grow.

We were so excited to find out if we were having a boy or girl!

We decided to keep it a surprise until we could gather our family and friends in one place. We took a sealed envelope with the gender inside to a local bakery and told them to bake a cake with pink frosting inside if it said girl, or blue if it said boy, so no one would know. Then we cut into it and pulled out the pink slice and everyone cheered and screamed it's a | !

After MANY days and nights going back and forth about baby names, talking about nicknames, who a name reminded us of, and making sure no one else that we knew had your name...We narrowed it down to the top two girl names. Then one day our minds were done searching and stressing. We finally fell in love with Whitney. Her name will be Whitney Lynn McAllister! Whitney: Which means "white island." Lynn:Which means "Waterfall"or "Pretty" and is after your Grandma Lopes.

Whitney: Origin Of Name: Old English Meaning: "White Island"

I had been dreaming of the perfect nursery for my little girl for months and I am so happy with the way it turned out. I knew I wanted something feminine but not too babyish...and something you could grow into. Your daddy put all of your furniture together while I worked on the decor. I even hand made your flower mobile that hung over your crib. Your room was definitely made with love.

The first time I felt you kick I was 5 months pregnant on our babymoon in Maui. It was even more amazing than I expected. I remember laying on the beach while your dad snorkeled watching my belly move. We spent half of our trip sitting quietly trying to feel you kick, and getting so excited every time we felt you. That was just the beginning of your little acrobats.

 Babymoon | Maui, Hawaii

From the moment I found out I was having a girl I knew exactly how I wanted it to be. Sweet and Pink of course...with a candy bar, mini cupcakes, and cake pops! My mom got the venue, flowers and food, and your Aunt Chrystina and Brittany helped with dessert, games and gifts. I made almost all of the decorations, and put together the candy jars and tissue balls that your Grandpa Lopes and dad hung from the ceiling. It was exactly how I imagined it and more. All of our family and friends were there to celebrate and we had such a fun time eating and playing games. I received so many gifts, adorable clothes and sweet baby girl things, almost everything we needed. We were ready to welcome Whitney home.

We have been on this journey together for 9 months now and I can't believe I get to meet you soon! It has been such an easy pregnancy,I have made sure to be the healthiest I can be for you so you come out perfect as can be!

I have so many plans for us. Trips to the zoo, play dates with your friends, tea parties, birthday parties, shopping for pretty dresses, exploring life's wonders and watching you grow into a beautiful young lady. I can't wait to show you my world and I hope that one day I will get see the birth of your child. All I want is the best for you and our family, and for you to be happy and healthy!!!

Little Whitney was pretty comfortable in mommies tummy so it was time to move things along. I was scheduled to be induced on March 14th at midnight. After a couple of false alarms our bags were packed and it was really going to happen this time. We got to the hospital and started the induction at 2:30 am and almost 24 hours later at 2:23 Whitney Lynn was born. Dad, grandma and grandpa Lopes, were all there to see Whitney come into the world. It was scary, emotional, exciting and unbelievable all at the same time! We couldn't take our eyes off of our beautiful baby girl!

Whitney was born 3.15.12 at 2:23 am She weighs 7lbs 5oz and is 19.5 inches long. We are so lucky to have been given this tiny little baby and are so grateful for this precious gift. We will cherish every moment we have with her.
