1: Phillis Wheatley was the first black women poet. She was a slave in Boston and her master recognized her for her talent on writing poetry. Phillis became free and never became a slave again. Phillis died in Poverty. | Phillis Wheatley

2: Harriet Beecher Stowe wrote a novel about how bad slavery was and it was called Uncle Tom's Cabin. The novel was about how bad how bad slavery was and the book was the most common in the United States and England. It also explained the issue of slavery an it caused the North to be more against slavery then they already were. Harriet Beecher Stowe her maiden name was Beecher and then she married a man with the last name of Stowe.

4: Lucretia Mott - She attended a Anti-Slavery Society. Then she decided to make a group where they would talk about abolition and she helped organize the Anti-Slavery convention. In May 1838 her home was attacked. The place where they had the convention was burned and that led to the attack at Mott's house.
