1: John Calvin was born July 10,1509. In

3: Like branches on a tree, our lives may grow in different directions yet our roots remain as one. | His father was Gerard Calvin, a church leader holding ecclesiastical offices for the Lordship of Nylon. His mother Jeannele Franc was the daughter of an inkeeper at Cambrai, who afterwards came to reside at Noyon.

4: John Calvin was th youngest of two

5: The Early Years | He was destined for an ecclesiastical career. His father paid for his education in the household of the Noble Family Hangest de Montmor. In May 1521 he was appointed to Chaplaincy.

6: In 1534 his influence became supreme and all who accepted the Reformed doctrines in France turned to him for counsel and instruction, attached not only by his power as a teacher, but still more perhaps become they saw him in so full development of the Christian life.

9: Sadly Calvin contracted a fever, asthma, and gout. Then in February 1564 he preached his last sermon. He died May 27,1564 at the age of 55.
