S: Rock and Minerals

1: You might not think about this all the time but rocks and minerals are all around you. The pyramids are built out of rocks. If we did not have rocks and minerals we would not even be able to walk on the ground because under all the cement and grass and streets are rocks and minerals.
2: Some tests that are used to identify minerals are there color. Sometimes you can tell what kind of rock it is because of its color. You can also tell a rock by its hardness. Some rocks are harder then others. Another test is what i looks like. If it has layers it is likely to be a Sedimentary rock. (I will get to the sedimentary rocks later.) Another test is the streak test. If you scratch a rock on a glass plate that will also determine what kind of rock it is. There are a lot of ways to identify rocks. Here are some pictures of rocks.
8: Definition of a Rock A rock is a solid that is made up of lots of little minerals.
10: Igneous Rocks Igneous Rocks are formed by magma cooling of making a rock.
12: Intrusive Igneous Rock An intrusive Igneous rock
14: Extrusive Igneous Rock An Extrusive Igneous Rock is a Igneous Rock that has gotten out onto the surface. It gets out by lava exploding violently. Here are some examples og Igneous Rocks.
19: Sedimentry Rocks Sedimentry Rocks are formed by materials within bodies of water hardening and making a rock.
20: There are two different types of Sedimentary Rocks. Clastic and Organic.
21: Clastic Sedimentary Rock Clastic Sedimentary Rocks are formed by other minerals that have started turning into rocks.
22: An Organic Sedimentary Rock is formed the same way as regular Igneous Rocks accept the minerals are living orgasms.
24: Metomorphic Rocks Metomorphic Rocks are rocks that turn into other rocks. They form by heat or pressure of about 200 degrees. There are two types of Metomorphic Rocks. Foliated and Nonfoliated
25: Foliated Rocks Foliated Metomorphic rocks are rocks that shorten during crystleyzation,
26: Nonfoliated Rocks Nonfoliated Rocks are rocks that are formed randomly with random colors and layers.
31: This is the Rock cycle.
32: The definition of the rock cycle is the way rocks transition, there are three main kinds of rocks. Sedimentary, Metomorphic and Igneous.
33: One way a rock can change to a Igneous rock is if the rocks gets pushed down under the surface in to the magma making it a Igneous rock.
34: A way a rock can turn into a Metomorphic Rock is if it is exposed to alot of heat.
35: The last example i will tell you about is a rock turning into a Sedimentary Rock. The way that happens is when rocks get breaken up layers of more rocks go over them creating a Sedimentary Rock
