BC: The End

FC: Portfolio by Brian Lee Period: 1-2 3/23/11

Table of Contents Language Arts Poem- Pg. 1-2 Self Respect Poem- Pg. 3-4 My Mother's Kitchen Poem- Pg. 5-6 GSMST Poem- Pg. 7-8 Choice Poem- Pg. 9-10

Language Arts Poem Language arts is the least enjoyable of the subjects. Language arts is trying to stay awake in class. It is the process of going insane while trying to think of the last sentence on an essay. Even after studying, you still have a feeling that you are missing something. Language arts is not only studying but knowing the answers to get a 100% on the tests. It is learning useless, complicated words that discourage others when you use them. Speaking and writing does not have to be so complicated. | 1

I sit there thinking and not even blinking. As I come to the essay’s end, my mind hits a wall. This is the last sentence and that is all. My head starts going numb with the thinking. This is language arts. Test day comes and only studying won’t give you the good grade. In the end, I usually end up dismayed. In Greek Roots vocabulary, students are trained. Sometimes I wonder what’s the point of this gain? This is language arts. | 2

Self-Respect Poem Sometimes I impress, sometimes I don’t. Sometimes I affect, sometimes I won’t. Depend on if I know what I’m doing, I might even amaze. It really just depends on if I’m confident. I’m not the average student. And I ain’t as smart as a genius. But I learned that I do have my moments. Because I am a student that tries. I’m not a person that studies 24/7. My worth is not determined by intelligence. No matter how I do in school. I will always be a student that tries. | 3

My Mother's Kitchen Poem Filthy dishes are piled like a crowd This will not be allowed Cabbages are pickled in brine The stainless-steel refrigerator yet shines The door is opened with a creak And the lights flicker on Doing these dishes will take a week! The dirty dishes are now gone Why is the kitchen never clean! Why is the counter green!? What is that on the floor!? I can’t take this anymore! | 5

The dead fish is put on the stove with the fire lit The entire house now smells like it The cooked fish is put on a plate And it is soon ate The kitchen is eventually clean And is brought back to its sheen In the oven, food is baking In the kitchen, memories are making | 6

GSMST Poem GSMST, you are great There is no way people can hate You are becoming known for your excellence And you will soon become a precedence The halls are always clean None of the teachers are mean The food in the cafeteria is superb Nothing in this school can disturb | 7

Times may be difficult but You guide the way to be a success You guide way to be somebody You ready the students to take life on | 8

A Poison Tree-William Blake I was angry with my friend; I told my wrath, my wrath did end. I was angry with my foe: I told it not, my wrath did grow. And I waterd it in fears, Night & morning with my tears: And I sunned it with smiles, And with soft deceitful wiles. And it grew both day and night, Till it bore an apple bright. And my foe beheld it shine, And he knew that it was mine. And into my garden stole. When the night had veiled the pole; In the morning glad I see, My foe outstretchd beneath the tree. | 9
