FC: Happy 70th Birthday June Hutcheson

1: "A Grandmother is a little bit parent, a little bit teacher, and a little bit best friend"

2: Happy 70th Birthday from all of us!

5: My Dear Boomer, Wow Babe 70 years old! You surely don’t look it...nor do you act like it. I’ve told you this numerous times through the years, but now I’m putting it in writing: I have never spent one day, or even one hour, or even one second since I met you in April 1959 that I didn’t love you. I can’t image where in the world I would be today if I hadn’t met you. You are a wonderful mother to Chris, Chuck, and The Pill; a bird and helpful grandmother to Amanda, Erin, Chaz, Morgan, McKenzie, Drew, and Kate; a doting and caring great-grandmother to little Bradley. If all our descendents knew all the hardships and sacrifice you have made through the years to get us to where we are today, they undoubtedly would appreciate you even more. You dropped out of GA Southern in 1960, had Chris, then Chuck in 62’, went back to GSU in 66’, finished your last two years in 68’, went to Dekalb, taught one year, had the Pill, stayed home 1.5 years, went back to teaching and started your Masters. You finished it in 75’ (the day we moved to Fond du Lac). I respect you so much for the strong and stable person you are. You taught 30 years and I never heard you complain. You were never absent from your job. When you retired you had the max number of sick leave days, 220! Happy Birthday, Babe. Thanks for sticking with me these 51 years, through thick and thin, probably more thin than thick! I will always love you, CBH

7: Happy 70th Mama Life has really flying by and the older I get the more precious the memories. So many of the memories I have involve my mother. The times we have together, the food you cooked, the care you provided and the love you have always shown. Growing up, I always remember your sunny side of looking at things. Oh and the joy of a good piece of fruit. I am fortunate that you and dad saw fit to stay with each other and in doing so provided the foundation and model for all your family to follow. After being a parent, it is something that I can fully appreciate. You are the best cook I know. The tradition of eating to my heart’s content and with many courses to choose from is another feather in the cap of the legacy you hand down. I fondly remember coming home from having been at the pool all day and with no air condition, lying in front of the fan, exhausted, yet fully satisfied. I would lie on the floor to put your tinkling fingers in the right place for the tinkle. How many trips have we made together? On the back roads of South Carolina, do you remember the train that seemed to come out of nowhere to scare the bejebus out of us? I truly feel as if I have had the most wonderful childhood and feel pity for others because there is no way their childhood could have been as good because they did not have you for a mom. Arrogant, I think not. I could go on and on but suffice it to say, I love you with all my heart and I always carry you with me wherever I go. Your birthday being on the fourth of July is special and maybe that is the reason I was born on New Year’s Eve, so we could give the folks a good reason to get together and party. What a blast it is to be your son. I will always cherish you as one of the greatest blessings God bestowed upon me. Thank you for being you and may your 70th be as special to you as it is in my mindLove Chris

8: Chuck | Mother if it wasn’t for YOU saying everything I needed to hear, Like: “Don’t put that in your mouth.” “Have you brushed your teeth yet today?” “Did you put on clean underwear? What will people think if you’re in an accident?” “Wash behind your ears—I can see carrots growing back there.” “Stand up straight, you're hunching over.” “Don’t forget your jacket.” “Don’t run with scissors.” “Take smaller bites.” “Finish your meal—there are children starving in India!” “Just scrape off the burnt part, it's still good." “Look at me when I'm talking to you!” “Don't use that tone with me.” “Who do you think you are?” “Just wait until your father gets home.” “Stop fighting or I’ll turn this car right around. “If everyone else jumped off a cliff, would you do it too? I would have jumped off that cliff a long time ago! Happy 70th Love Chuck

My favorite memories of you are when we have a family get together, after everything has settled down, you scratch my arms and back. Other great memories I have are playing card games, going camping at Jelly Stone Park, taking you to the hospital when you had the cyst, and the family vacation to Panama City. Everyone loves you.
