FC: Leila Nottingham

Buying clothes for Leila and Forrest at the 99 cent store
Today baby Leila was born. I was so excited that I took her shopping with Kasey at the 99 Cent store. We walked around the 99 cent store with our blank babies getting strange looks from even stranger people. We also dragged Christa with us (who was just as embarrassed being with us). We made our way to the baby section and I bought Leila a pink hat and a bin that reads "Trouble is my middle name. When we went to buy the stuff, the cashier didn't even bother asking why. When we were going back home, I gave the baby to Christa and she carried Leila until we got home. It was difficult carrying the baby, my books,my laptop, and my backpack at the same time. I asked Christa to draw a face for my baby after I put clothes on her. I put my baby down to nap on my bed. I feel like this baby project is going to be a pain in the butt to be honest. I also believe that it is going to be difficult because it is only me but at the same time I enjoy being a single mom. I like being single because I probably couldn't trust sharing the baby with half the people in my class.
 Leila's first day at Yogurtland
Today is my second day with Leila. I woke up at 4 am and sadly realized I had not set my alarm for 2:30 am. I brought Leila to school. Today was my first entire day with her. I got through first period with no problems. When I had to go to the bathroom during second period, Nate offered to babysit. I think Nate is kind of obsessed with Leila because he's always asking to hold her and babysit. He also calls himself the step dad.We also brought our babies to chapel. Allan wanted to hold Leila and he held it like it was a real child. He was even rocking it and petting its head. Allan is apparently the uncle now. During lunch, I kept Leila in my lap and I was careful not to spill pizza on her. After school, I went to my car and took a nap with my baby. At 3, I went and got my paper signed and Kasey, Matthew, Austin, and I went to Yogurtland with our children. After today, I realized this baby project is going to be a burden but it is going to be fun and a nice experience. The only thing that I'm really going to dislike about this project is waking up at 2:30 in the morning to call. It's such an ungodly hour to be awake and functioning.
 Leila meets Pearl
Today, I woke up and realized I forgot to call again. This 2:30 am thing isn't really working out for me. Today was also an unevenful day with Leila because I stayed at home and did my Senior Project after school. Today, my adventure with Leila was introducing to my Labrador Retriever, Pearl. At first, my dog thought that Leila was this alien from a different planet and she kept sniffing her. Finally, Pearl gave up and just took a nap on the floor. I put Leila next to Pearl and they took a nap together. Today during school, I took Leila to all of my classes. I realized it's starting to get a lot easier taking her from class to class. The only thing is the hat keeps falling off and that gets kind of annoying. People always stare at me weird because I'm carrying around a brown rice bag whenever I go in public but it's okay. For example, Nayla and I went to Target together with our babies and got some weird looks. Also today, Christa babysat Leila while Kasey and I went for a run. This baby project has begun to get better and I've learned to accept the fact that I need to take this baby everywhere with me. It has become less of a hassle.
Leila learns how to read with Auntie Christa
Christa has been a really good "aunt" to Leila. Whenever I go to work or go to workout, Christa offers to babysit. I got home from work today and I had Christa do my daily adventure with Leila and me. She read Twilight to her (very appropriate right?) I think Leila enjoyed the story. I realized how difficult it is to find a babysitter for when you go to work. I wonder what it will be like when I have a real child and have to go to work. Doing these things with baby Leila really helps me realize how important it is to think about these things before having a real child.
Leila gets babysat by Jeff and Lynn
These are my parents. They really have enjoyed this project (especially my mom). My mom treats Leila like she's a real child. When I first brought her home, my mom got super excited and loved the bib I bought her. My dad thinks the baby project is funny. He posed for the picture on the left with a spoon and is pretending to feed her. My parents have been really nice about babysitting Leila and I really appreciate it when I go to work or when I'm busy.
Leila learns how to play videogames
Today was kind of an uneventful day with Leila. I woke up at 8 am to get my paper signed and went back to sleep. I woke up later on. I was so tired because last night I got home from work at almost 1 am and I stayed awake until 2:30 am to call. I'm pretty sure I sounded terrible on the phone. I stayed at home all day today so I'm not really sure what events or adventures I went on with the baby. For my daily activity, I taught the baby how to play videogames. I took a selfie for my scrapbook with a playstation controller and my baby. My dad laughed at me for it. I taught my baby how to play Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. My mom began to complain about how playing a shooting game with a child is bad and not good parenting. My baby did really good for her first time playing. We started off with Team Deathmatch where she learned how to use a basic MP7. I also taught my baby how to use an RPG and a Sniper. Leila is deadly with the RPG. I'm so proud of my baby because she got the Relentless Medal, meaning she got 20 kills in a row without dying. Baby Leila is growing up so fast.
Leila learns how to go on Facebook
Leila learned how to make a Facebook account today. She made lots of friends at school today and went on Facebook and added them all. She now knows how to play games like farmville and she stays connected with everyone. I'm so proud of Leila.
 Nate babysits Leila
Today was another day at school with Leila. It was the usual routine, going to every class with my baby. Nate has become a great babysitter. He always is offering to help me out (since he is the stepdad, he better be helping me out). Today, during my TA class, I had to go make copies for Senora. Nate volunteered to babysit Leila and I took a picture of him doing so. I really enjoyed this baby project. Today is going to be my last journal about Leila. This baby project has taught me to NOT have a kid anytime soon. First off, it's such a pain to carry the thing around everywhere. I can't even imagine if it was crying and needed to be fed every few hours. Waking up in the middle of the night was extremely harsh. It was so difficult to function during that time and I usually would just wake up, turn my alarm off, and go to back to sleep. I really enjoyed this project overall though because it was a fun experience and it was funny explaining to people why I was carrying around a clothed bag of rice.
